Didn't Eurosport come in with quite a good offer to show 1 championship game a week a few seasons ago? But Sky blocked any attempt from Eurosport because they didn't want to loose the NRC Final or Grand Final. Think something like that happened or am i just making it up?!

Yes it was something like that SKY had the rights to the final and nobody would take the rest of the matches without the final

Wether there was money on the table , I don't know

I said the same thing last year and the person who responded said Eurosport were prepared to show second division RL as long as the rfl payed them,which at the time i thought was quite bizarre,but i left it at that.

Was it ITV who had the NRC [or what ever it was called at the time] before sky?.Great success and exellent viewing figures,presumably thats when sky told the rfl that this is unexeptable and it must be put on pay tv.

Perhaps no announcement until after Super League announcement at the end of July(26th I think) as it will let the cat out of the bag for the newly expanded to 16 clubs SL. More money in the pot but more games and more teams.

Good luck with that Norman. Although we would hate to lose both Widnes and you - from a Championship 'gate' perspective and matchday atmosphere - especially if nobody gets 'relegated' (probably the wrong term!) from SL.
