We're in the best place to sit out this farce and watch the debts at the top ring up.
Nothing new can be said on this topic. Let all the super duper league fans watch all the talent go to union and the benefactors will get bored, then we'll see whats left, the South stand drummers and Eddie and Stevo can only big it up for so long.

The plot thickens, reading today's League Express. The RFL favoured a non-funded 3 year sponsorship with Stobarts over an offer of £750K for a one year deal offered by on-line gambling organisation Betfair.

i read that in the papers last week and still do not understand why they went with the stobart offer.

Let's turn the clock back to whichever year the last lot of licences were handed out & Widnes missed out, rightly or wrongly. The reaction, very public & media orientated by Widnes chairman Steve O'Stobart, sorry, O'Connor.
Guess what, Widnes, rightly or wrongly get a licence at the next available opportunity, change the name of their stadium to Stobart & only a week or so prior to SL 2012 a new sponsorship package for our sports' blue riband brand is brokered. I smell more than a rat here....

I wonder what the implications would have been with the Betfair deal, They're a big competitor of Sky's SkyBet, and isn't Stan James the "official" Rugby League Bookie?

I read that the RFL thought being linked with a gambling company wasn't very reputable for the game.

Im sick and tired of the whole sport right now!

From the patronising "you cant have an opinion on anything cos your club were denied super league", to the sycophants who applaud everything the RFL do, to the conflict of interests the RFL have over the Bulls (whatever the reason for the purchase of odsal may be), to the cash free sponsorship deal for super league, the disrespect shown to championship clubs by super league clubs in freindlies, the different quota and salary cap rules for championship and SL clubs in the challenge cup, the money free tv deal for the championship, the crusaders debacle and the moving of the licensing goal posts. One thing they did do right was put widnes into super league instead of crusaders!

Looking at all this, I'm not even bothered Fax didnt get in super league - we're not ready anyway, and doubt we ever will be.

There are far more pressing issues needing addressing in the sport and the least important is whether a championship team gets into super league!
