Thought I would wait before posting as I were gutted last night.
First time in a while Ive woke up gutted about a rugby game as well. For most of the game I thought we played pretty well and dominated for long periods so to throw it away like we did was awful.
We need a hooker and a half back. Its that simple. Our distribution from acting half is appalling and its a good job we have a good pack because we would struggle to get going forward the ball moves so slow.
I thought Fieldhouse went really well along with Worrincy before his injury. Sheriffe was steady at best as he has been. I didnt really notice Heaton and Tyrer but that no surprise as its very rare they touch the ball. Murrell is quality and was superb along with Handforth apart from that awful bullet pass to Tyrer. Ambler was good again and I thought Bracek, Tonks, Robinson, Divorty, and Manning went ok without been spectacular.
Im not sure what part Casey plays to be honest. He dosnt seem to add anything to the team and probably struggles because of the utility tag. Ashall has been pushed in at hooker because of mistakes made with pre season signings and its not working. He isnt a hooker and its painfully obvious to see. Time for KH to admit he made a mistake and maybe try something else. I was going to say maybe try Thackery at hooker as he should give a bit of spark around the play the ball but a hooker has to defend and Thackery cant tackle for toffee and again at this moment Im not sure what he brings to the team. Maybe give Casey a shot at hooker? He certainly has the defensive qualities for it.
That leaves Sam Barlow. I really do hope that he dosnt just turn in to a pantomime villain. At times last season he looked like the best forward in the league and you could see him playing in SL and then at the beginning of each season he just looks like he is stealing a wage and from one of the, if not the, top earner at the club we should expect a lot more than what he is giving at the moment. He needs to knuckle down and get back to where he were last season.

Fair post, toally agree about Barlow, at times he can be great but usually falls back into his penalty conceding way's. can't agree you dominated for long periods though, I thought our forwards had the measure of yours a I did think Ambler was outstanding last night. i spoke with Rettie during the game and was shocked to learn of his injuries from a horrific attack in Leeds, he's face has been partially rebuilt and he's hoping to be back in two weeks.
Just shows how brave these blokes are, good on him.
