I have to agree with that comment and once again it's not a criticism. I wouldn't want to criticise anything or anyone after finishing 4th, although (having never played the game) I don't understand why Ben seems to go into every attacking run with his head down as if he's a yard from the try line.

They looked to be a few guys off the pace Saturday and what with injuries and players playing out of position the tank looks to be running on fumes at the minute. Hopefully we can keep going right to the end but it shouldn't take any gloss of a memorable season.

To finish on a slightly negative note, one concern for me is Saltys propensity to royally feck up on a fairly regular basis whether it be poor carries or brain farts........one for the gaffer over the winter to sort out maybe?

I felt he made up for his error in the sky game with a fabulous finish in the corner. I have to agree though, he's made a few cock ups this year i.e. giving penalties away with ball in hand but he's a raw talent and we shouldn't try to coach it out of him too much imo

Re: Heaton. Maybe the fact is contract expires and with Smeaton coming in, he is a little sluggish in the Qualifiers. He had improved under Marshall but I think he had peaked.

I don't know, would he make a second rower as he can tackle the less mobile players and can sniff a try near the line. Have any of his 12 tries this season been over 30 metres?

Salty should never have been put in that position in the first place. Last tackle and the ball goes through the half backs hands !!!! to Tyrer who gets rid asap to Salty. What option did he have?
Both our halfbacks kicking game was very poor, the only kick that found space was regathered for a try. When you put in a workrate like Salty does you are bound to cough up the ball a few times.

Heaton will be here next year. Marshall wouldnt let someone with his talent go.

Another player with the right attitude. A little story someone told me about Ben was when he wasnt in the side early in the season he got offered the chance by RM to go out on loan somewhere but he told RM that he wanted to stay and fight for his place and said that once he had picked him in the team he would pick him every week. He kept his head down and true to his word once he got in the team I think the only game he missed was where he was injured/rested.

Any more over 30 metres in 3 years? Although I must admit, Karl Harrisons side has caused 3 years of amnesia besides the NR final and the 60 points drubbing of Leigh.

Well the one against Leigh was probably only 15 - 20 metres out but was as well of a finished try as some you will see from 70 metres. Look at some of the ones Salford scored against us.
