The reality is that unless the stay away fans turn up and the people of Halifax back professional rugby in the town then this is how its going to be. Survive or die! In an ideal world we wouldnt need to do this but Salford have been great with us and deserve a lot of credit. We have an opportunity to make our team stronger over the season and its my personal belief that we should do that at this time. All of our Halifax players will have the chance to stake their claim for a shirt and Richard will consider them first and foremost. If people dont like it then thats fine by me but we have to be competitive and most of all, realistic.
Quoting a fax director from facebook on dual reg--it's up to us supporters now....
Cant argue with the fact we are where we are, and the team is what we can afford, but..... the punt they made on bringing through young players needs to pay off, hindsight is 20/20 but perhaps we should have spent more on the first team squad and made a few middle 8's before we whacked a load of cash into mini buses and started losing kids to SL sides.
Anyway, the point is, people need something exciting to watch, you don't go out for a meal because the restaurant might serve decent food in 5 years time.
No pressure chaps, but the beds made, and fans didn't buy the linen or make it.
Im still hopeful we can be galvanised into something, or at worst the other sides have bad seasons.
