Loving the hypocrisy of some.

Re: Billboards outside the ground : Fri Jun 10, 2011 9:05 pm
I apologise. Its slightly less ridiculous then ;)

The point is still relevant though. Posters outside the ground are the basics.

Re: Billboards outside the ground : Fri Jun 10, 2011 10:31 pm
I think I am entitled to have a view on things at the club Chris .
I buy a season ticket (for the last 15 or 16 years back to when you were running things up at Thrum Hall actually and yes I actually pay to see Fax unlike some) and attend 90% of games home and away, buy a home shirt (have done the last 10 years or more), am in Cashfax (x 2), in the GoldClub, buy a programme (when I can get one which is proving difficult the last few games!!!!!), buy a Golden Gamble every home match, joined Utility Warehouse so the club get some commission on my fuel bills and run my son around in my car doing some of his Cashfax round.
Oh and I try help out at the Fax Trust like tomorrow when I will spend 4 or 5 hours helping at the Halifax Gala raising money mostly for the club, this year for the U23s and been a member of the Trust and before that the Supporters Club raising thousands for the club for about 18 years now. I am a member of the Club 1873 and do the Fantasy League competition.
So I think that I can have some opinion on how the club is run! Yer some people put a lot more into the club than me like the Directors but at least I put as much as I can of my hard earned cash into the club.

Like any organisation when it stops listening to its customers then it has a problem and it seems to be the age old problem at Halifax RLFC since the year dot and why some fans and even more importantly some sponsors have walked away because the club do not learn from its mistakes, you should know this more than anybody Chris having once been a member of staff at the club yourself!
Like I said I do try mention things and believe it or not sometimes I am even positive but like other fans I feel that when I do have to criticise then I am just an irritation and like you put it seem to be somebody who is just critical and a nuisance all the time when actually I am not. I like many others CARE about things at the club and if I say something that somebody does not like then sorry but the CLUB is more important to me than anything else (my family apart obviously).
Until the club whoever the club is at any one time get this sorted then we will NEVER move forward, yes there are some good people working at the club and they DO work hard and sometimes long hours but you should always listen to your customers, even when you think they are a pain like me

Jeez - it's not easy is it? As GFB pointed out - 99% of people on here want success. It is difficult working with stretched resources. It's also one thing listening to supporters - it's another thing pleasing everyone. Where I work we've tried for 20 years to listen to our customers and we still aint getting it right. The recent survey might be a step in the right direction but not everyone will be happy 100% all the time.

Once again, an excellent point. Most of us are happy because we know about the limited resources and limited finance.
Take Thursday, 10 mins before the final whistle I felt as bad if not worse than at any time over the last **? years. And then I thought what do the backroom staff feel like now, some working for nowt, some working 13 hour days, only 1900 supporters showing up, the season almost over (for us) and then a win. Wake up next morning and people aere moaning about bill boards.

Look at your glasses fans, they are half full, not half empty.

Come on how many extra people are a few posters going to bring in? Our fixtures have been out in circulation for ages, the games are advertised in the local and national press and splattered all over the internet. A few posters outside the shay are not going to drag people in, rather have the clubs staff continue concentrating their efforts communicating electronically which is far more effective.

I'm sorry but I really do think that if you don't put the fixtures up on the board that has been created for them at the ground then you are not getting the little things right. The fixtures may be available elsewhere but when you drive past the ground and see it then it sinks in and therefore becomes embedded in your mind. Not everyone can be bothered to go looking so the club need to put this information where people expect it to be.
They are doing lots of great work but sometimes something very small, and what people think is irrelevant, can undo all this good effort.

Exactly.
My point is if you have these Boards then USE THEM, what impression does it create in not bothering because that is what people will think. Yer it won't make much difference to the gate but its that being professional argument again.
Some people are of the opinion we should just accept the club do not have the resources to do all that they would like and we should just accpet it.
No way much smaller clubs than us manage to do things so sorry no excuses just do it or take the damn things down and don't bother with them.
At the end of the day this a fans forum!

Talking of getting the little things right..........surely if one arrives in the stadium 20 mins and 30 mins before kick-off, as I did for the last two home games, one should be able to buy a programme. But no, not if you go in the East Stand.

As I always buy 3 (and have done for the last 25 years) the club has lost out to the tune of £15.00 from me alone over the two games by not having sufficient available.

Before anyone remarks that I should get there earlier, it is not always possible for those of us who have to travel and, even if it were, what on earth is there to do once inside the East Stand (at least the South-Standers have the welcoming Southdale Lounge to while away the time to kick-off).

A small issue maybe, but it is something that the club should look at again to enable people to fully enjoy the gameday experience.

If you have any suggestions how I/we can improve the club we would be very happy to listen.

Well theres quite a few in here now so i guess they have all been noted?

Might be a silly idea but theres like 20 Stickies at the top of the page so maybe one more wont hurt. Im thinking of a suggestion one where people could make suggestions for how the club could improve thier product. Never know there may be some useful ideas like in this thread.
