I'm sorry to disagree with you, but these days Halifax doesn’t have RL in its blood, hence why we achieved less than a 2000 attendance at our last home game.

The likes of myself and my family will continue to support Halifax for evermore (as I dare say, you and many of the other die-hards on this forum will). However, preaching to a hardcore of less than 1000 leads to stagnation not progression. The average resident of Halifax neither wants to part with their cash, to watch dead-end rugby or non-league football.

As you said about the joke of a 2,576 crowd last night, the same applies to 2,300?? at Toulouse tonight. However, if they are in a position to give away free tickets then, why not? As the old saying goes, 'if you can't beat them then join them'. The fact is that these development clubs, are at least looking for ways that they can get people down to the ground to be involved. Halifax on the other hand are resting on their laurels, the attitude of Fax, is that they deserve to be there, due to their proximity to the M62 and cup success in the 80s. That attitude won't wash with RFL!

If a team in West Yorkshire averages the same sort of crowd to a club in Wales, then from the point of view of the RFL, it is a no brainer as to which one would be more beneficial to the game.

I was more under the impression that Halifax fans think they should be in Super League as they are the current champions, have been in 3 finals in 3 years and have a certificate from the RFL saying we had passed the criteria to be in Super League.
On the other hand i've never heard a Halifax fan say we should be in Super League because we won the Cup in 1987...

AGreed, I really don't hear people harking back to the 80's, maybe because a lot don't now come and watch as it's "Not the same as Thrum Hall". No they are right, we are far more entertaining and we don't have to to pee into an old piece of troughing.
The club have worked hard on and off the pitch but there is a lot of apathy which might be overcome if we were in SL.

But could it overcome 5/6,000 peoples worth ?

As that is the amount of fans you would need to bring back ?

Aside from the fact that fans want top level sport and many wont come unless they get it.....large visiting support from the big clubs versus none from almost everyone? Hugely increased publicity? I think my first point is good enough to be honest. There is little we die hards can do to convince people who don't want to make it here unless they see the stars of the game visiting. We're the ones who go every week. It's the nature of people, of sports fans, to be fickle.

The likes of Salford and Crusaders should be able to maintain better crowds than us with the supreme advantages they get. Crusaders have an excuse, they're new, we all knew they were not ready for super league, that they wouldn't take off as idealists were suggesting, but Salford? Quins?

Yes I did as I thought with the money it makes you might be able to buy some more of those hankys for the final ...well your going to need plenty of them.
