How does a team with a squad value of £300k build a new squad for SL in just four months to be able to avoid relegation without gambling massively against their future?
That's the exact scenario in other sports, and yet sometimes the club coming up does survive.
It is better to have tried and failed then never to be allowed to try.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

With thd RFL giving Wakefield a licence, it would appear that they would now likely encourage this behaviour and give it a few marks towards a licence if you go into admin

I would say that the gulf between the divisions in this sport is considerable compared to the Championship and the Premiership for example. Also in some other sports they have parachute payments to protect the dropping club.

Well said Michael. One wonders how much the Clowns at Red Hall have promised Crusaders to get them out of the mire so they can re-apply next time. To allow Wakefield to stay in with their dump of a ground and going into administration just shows how far the Clowns will go to keep Fax out of SL. Re parachute payment how much are they going to give to Crusaders, they are allegedly 700K in the red?

Well the RFL were happy for Fax to be in the mix today , and it is quite concievable that they could have got a SL place for next season , only giving them a short amount of time to prepare , if that amount of time is enough , why did they give Widnes more time ?
