I have a cousin who is a Plant Driver, used to work for one firm but went self employed but continued to work for the same firm as a contractor, don't think its that unusual in that industry

Standard practice in some industries moving the wage/fee from direct to indirect costs and it reduced the cost per unit manufactured

It could just mean that he is now a self employed dumper driver as well as a Fev prop who is going to play rugby league for someone

If he has signed for Huddersfield then surely he is employed by them, They hold his registration which means he cannot work ( RL wise ) anywhere else. Thats Employed, Self employed can choose work where they want.
