He was actually very talented, one of the best passers of the ball I've seen in a fax shirt, people expected him to be an instant success and it was never going to happen, would have been an excellent hooker as his distribution from acting half would have been quality.

Sorry but I disagree from what I saw!! His distribution I thought was poor and his ability to read the game wasn't great along with his kicking game. RU was a very different game then and he did nothing for me!! Talented or not!

David Holmes was indeed a very talented player, i remember him coming on taking the ball from the scrum and getting it to the wing like a bullet. Dont think Wilf could handle passes like that.
One thing he was easy to spot with his blond hair (should me more colour coding!! players are starting to look all the same or is it just my age and eye sight?)

i remember him looking quite promising - did he get injured in a bad tackle and was never seen again (don't think they tackled in RU back then so it was probably quite a shock)

Don't remember mick snee what position did he play? David Holmes was a good player I'n my opinion. Mark Moxan should be in there. Paul sculthorpe's brother played in Acadamy team and was very poor. Ryan Clayton not just 2nd time but 1st time also don't know why we brought him back never rated him.

Peter Roe for me, i remember when he put himself in the team at Stand Off one evening game at Thrum Hall most hilarious performance i,ve ever seen. What made it worse was he thought he was pretty good.
I also thought David Holmes was pretty good and was certainly quick and backed up well. Dan Staines was great when used as an impact player. We did have another State of Origin player who was crap, Mike McClean if i remember rightly.
