This brings back vivid memories of Fax v Batley a few years ago.

And Behold, a pale horse. And on his back his name was death.

The weekend starts on a Monday.

Working on the fact that we will have to improve drastically to beat both Fev and Seagulls I will opt for Fev, a chance to have a drink with a few friends and a game in a Rugby Stadium, an honest price in and a bigger share of gate money.

Just my humble opinion.

You & the tribe might wish to arrive earlier than the last time when there were no seats left for you & you had to stand with the locals JD

My mistake, Fev's overall average is actually 2,495. Box unticked. :D

So why would Fev over egg the attendance last night (unless we'd added the extrat 65 to the gate total)?

Cos thats what the RFL want inflated crowds like last Saturday at Wembley there was no way there was a crowd of 78K, I was there and the Club Wembley was 95% empty which holds 10K so theye were saying that there was only 2K empty seats in the rest of Wembley?
Er no chance there were loads of empty seats I estimate the crowd last week was around 68K.
Watching Fev the other night the seated stand was around a 1/3 empty and the terracing was not crowded full so comparing the crowd with when we played there (that seated stand was rammed full) I am pretty certain it was lower but to say the crowd figure they did is good PR for Fev and makes them look bigger than their rivals which is why they do it, not saying our crwods are great but at least they are the true crowd figure.

F4L,

FWIW the crowd on Wednesday of 3890 looked about the same as the Fax game of 3686, yes the Fax part of the that stand was most certainly fuller than it was on Wednesday however for me the terracing was fuller as was the main stand and sponsors bar.

As for it being good PR, that it certainly was, but at our level I am sure that the thoughts of the taxman outways the desire to inflate the gate numbers. If it is a good think to do why haven't all the other clubs been been inflating there crowds?

I know it is hard for people to accept but maybe coming top of the league 3 (maybe 4 now) years has encouraged a lot of the old faithful back (and some new supporters too). The the work that Paul Taylor put in to promote the game for the two weeks leading up to it was outstanding. I wish we had another 10 people working as hard promoting our club.

Now is the hard bit, to get those suppoters comming back for every game.

It may now be unlikely that Fev and Fax play again this year, which is a shame because I always enjoy our games, good atmosphereand great games to watch. On top of which I'll be missing out on a beer with some very good pople. However when we do play each other again, please look me up because I'll be more than happy to stand you a beer and chew all the fat about RL.

Good luck in the play-offs.
