I have no problem batting off beamers when we lose. I have no problem in engaging with like minded RL fans and the banter. Perhaps it's a bit too optimistic to expect a certain degree of class and knowledge from the trollers. I can do early learning conversation if that's what's required. Here goes....

Yer, we woz crap last nite. We chooked and neffer luked like livin up to our cocky attitudez. get uzed to it faxs cos youll neffer win owt agin.

Ah, that's better.

I think the comparisons with Calland's sides are unfair. To start with, to play running & supporting RL you have to be fit, for me, that's where the comparison ends. At least Calland's lot looked fit this lot haven't most of the season.

To attack the assistant coach on here I find a bit embarrassing, I think Lee G is a very good coach but i'm sure many of our posters have watched his work & are more capable than me to make that judgement. So, we bring in another *attacking* ( sigh ) coach and he has big idea's but the HEAD-COACH over rules him, where do we go from there ?

Think Fax have looked unfit and often mentally weak all season. Sam Barlow is one example. This year looked unfit and uninterested. Moves to Fev and is different player.

I think you cant just look at one person but the whole coaching team. Lee Greenwood could be the best coach ever but if Rhino ignores him then he is useless. Maybe Lee is a top coach who struggles to get his plans over to the players and Karl. He wont be the first or last that has happened too. Maybe Karl is too stubborn to see whats going on and thinks he knows best. Is Nigel Halmshaw really getting the players fit or is it the players are just lazy and cutting corners or could it be the way Karl has organized things? I would hope the Board has a review of the whole coaching setup and has a look at why we once again have under achieved. Because another season like the last couple will see crowds drop and less money coming in again

The board really do need to sit down and look at the positives and negatives from this season, the problem is it'll be a very one-sided meeting because I really am struggling to see the positives.
Players promoted from u21's - Holden and that's about it.
Crowd - going down and not looking like turning that around.
Style of play - boring as.
Ideas - Not many.

Hang on - Price of booze dropped, think we all need a drink so that's a positive.

I'd like to say roll on next season but if you look back we were all saying that this time last year and nothing has improved.

No point spending anymore money with this coaching set up, phone up Dunneman now, he might even be able to play half back as well.

My lad plays for King Cross Park U9's. After a great couple of years of cat and mouse rugby the boys are now starting to value their team mates and passing the ball around rather than just heading for the line ‘taking it in turns’. This season his coach has introduced two basic 'moves' to try and promote more structure to their game. Anyone who has watched Fax this season will recognise them as a ‘drop off’ and an ‘booty ball’. The boys have practised and practised all season and these moves look good at U9.

I don’t think I have seen anything different in a Fax team all season. The first 3 tackles (sometimes 4) are a drop off or an booty every single set. Imagination is poor, our defensive strength that saw us win at Sheff has let us down tonight, and the brand of rugby is clearly not promoting bums on seats with a 1300 semi final.

Under Calland, the pressure we had in the first 20 minutes tonight we would have been 20 up. Who knows what would have happened then, we could well have lost 40 but tonight was like watching Steve McLaren's England football team. The staff have done a fantastic job of promoting the game all week, and again, the game plan and execution have let us down. Our crowd has been a long time low tonight. Unfortunately I think it will be even lower next year.

I love Fax and I love Rhino. However I think we need to recruit a little known, energetic, enthusiastic Aussie who understands RL. Seem to remember it worked once before?

Some good points here, I posted earlier in the season regarding our playing style. Playing attractive, effective rugby is not difficult, it's all about having multiple options available to the player with the ball. There is nothing wrong with a drop off at even the highest level of the game, as long as it is performed as one of three or four options in the play. For instance if you run a drop off say from first receiver, as a stand alone move, the defensive line has basically two options to defend against, the player dropping under or the player with the ball who may dummy and go himself. This is very easy to defend against especially if you do it over and over again, which Fax seem to do. If you run the same drop off but this time have two extra runners pushing up out side the drop off runner all of a sudden defending becomes much harder as there are now double the options on the table. This causes defences to think twice about shooting in and can also allow you to get the ball wider much easier. You could run this play everytime and as long as you keep changing who you give the ball to it still wouldn't be predictable. Fax just don't seem to have any push in support which is why we can end up watching one man rugby quite often. Of course it helps if you have the players who can do this, Shad Royston was a great example of this, very intelligent without the ball always pushing in support and running great lines and always giving the defensive line food for thought. We just don't seem to have anyone like that at the moment, whether that is down to the coaching, the fitness of the players, or the skill level of the players I have no idea, maybe a combination of all three, hard to tell from the outside looking in!

No Colin your watching the right sport, It's just very confusing, as Les Dawson said "I'm playing the right notes but not necessarily in the right order"
Give Worrency a two year contract, don't play him again, Take Tonks off when he is smashing them, bring him back when it's too late, pick Holden, a promising lad, bring him on with four mins to go in the first half, going to change the game isn't he?

JOHN you are confused , it was Eric Morecambe , who said it not Les Dawson  Charlie knows .

Bloody Sheffield yet again!! Championship, Challenge Cup!! They've now become a big fat monkey on our backs. That fullback of theirs - it was like watching Joe Kikroy again - superb skills.

We seemed ploddy and they looked like four year olds on Sunny Delight. It felt like we'd played on Sunday and they'd had two week off.

Not good enough. Our league position just about tells us where we are compared to other teams. So that's the last 3 years dominated by Sheffield and Fearherstone. The next two years are the most crucial. Will we be in the mix?

I think the problem is there not as fit as fev and Sheff, stands out like a sore thumb to me in the games Rovers have played against you. You looked great for 60 mins at fev, but faded away badly after that and did the same last night. Get a new conditioner and youl not be far away

No, we smashed them.

Well I suggest you look at the results on the fax site for this season as just as many games were close as were the ones we smashed them in against so called lower opposition could have gone either way at the end and ended up being close affairs.

Draw with Doncaster.
Lost to Barrow.
Scraped through against York at home.
Hunslet away was close.
York away was close.
Workington away was close.
