I notice how people are getting on Jones' back but I don't see anyone having a go at Black who has been totally anonymous so far this season.

I had a go at him in one of my previous posts. Always better to be honest i feel. Like i said this was jones best game for us and all he did was that break, i could have pointed out how poor his last option on their line was late in the game but i chose not to. Black was anonymous for most of the game apart from his break up the middle where he picked up the injury that saw him leave the field. I doubt Jones would have got on otherwise. I do feel for them though, no half backs of any quality can play well behind such a dominated pack.

A RUN! : Mon Apr 04, 2011 11:58 am
THE WAY THAT I SEE IT....WE HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS AT THE MINUTE WITH BOTH ATTACK AND DEFENCE. THE DISPLAY AT SHEFFIELD WAS THE WORST I HAVE SEEN IN ALONG TIME.

WE ARE DEFINATLY RUNNING LOW ON CONFIDENCE, AND THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE QUICKLY!

MC's JOB IS TO COACH AND MOTIVATE...I SUGGEST HE STARTS DOING IT NOW.

3 GAMES IN AND 3 DEFEATS IS TERRIBLE.

WE HAVE LEIGH NEXT, TO BEAT THEM WE HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SAME INTENSITY AND CONTROL AS WE DID AGAINST FEV IN THE 1ST HALF...IF WE DONT WE WILL GET BRUSHED ASIDE.

IF WE CAN BEAT LEIGH IT WILL BOOST CONFIDENCE AND GIVE US THE CHANCE OF GOING ON A WINNING STREAK.

HOWEVER IF WE DONT WIN, I CAN SEE US LOOSING THE NEXT 3 GAMES AFTER THAT.

COME ON FAX SORT IT OUT!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! PLAY LIKE THEM!

If a player needs motivating to play for Halifax he shouldn't be playing for Halifax at all!!!

Could it be that we reached two Grand Finals (and won one) DESPITE the coach rather than because of him?

It could be argued that, with the players that were available to the coach over the last two seasons, any other coach would have achieved just as much and, if they had sorted out the defence which our incumbant coach seems unable to do, might even have finished at the head of the league table in those two seasons and added a second Grand Final crown.

Who knows? But what is crystal clear is that things are not right with the team / coaching. Something needs to be done, though there are potential pitfalls in whatever transpires.

You took the words out of my mouth, I could not agree more.

I very rarely post on this board, but I did yesterday because I was and still am incensed by yet another awful performance from a team that does not look like they are being coached.

rlw, we are all entitled to our opinions and I respect yours, even though I don't agree with them. I'm not interested in personally arguing with anybody here, I just wanted to express my views for a change. Please don't tell me whom I should have faith in and who deserves my backing - those things are up to me and I am happy to agree to differ.

I think we all deserve a lot more from a club that we continue to follow through thick and thin. That's it from me on the subject, thanks for listening.

Never sing when you're winning then?

I'm proud to keep the faith in our coach, the team and the club. Despite very limited resources they've all performed miracles in the last few years, and they've done it with pride, loyalty and obvious ambition AND they made us Grand Final Champions!

You carry on following silently and we'll carry on singing our hearts out to help lead the lads to victory again.

It has nothing to do with the coach in terms of some of the players attitudes on Sunday. Some players weren't fit to wear the shirt and need to take a good long hard look at themselves in the mirror, they were the reason I left a Fax game early for the first time in my l;ife. I went to every single game and watched every single minute in 2003 where we lost all but one game, I don't mind losing, its when its blatantly obvious that some players can't be bothered to play that gets to me and that's what occurred on Sunday. Is that the coaches fault? Not necessarily. Yes he sets out ther game plan and tries to rally the troops but as soon as they cross the whitewash its the players responsibility and there were several who blatantly took the mickey out of our large travelling support.

Let's say Calland does go, who else is there? Look at when the poopoo hit the fan last year and many fans were calling for his head, it was backs against the wall, we all pulled together and won the league. This could be the wake up call we needed.

One things for sure it will be VERY interesting if we fail to beat Toulouse this weekend...

Its him who is ultimatly responsible for bringing in the playing personell, So in fact if he has brough in people who dont give a fig then only has himself to blame for this lack of desire.

Last year the players not only played as a team but played for each other on that pitch and it showed, Some players have things on their mind but they get paid to do a job and they are not doing it, That doesn't mean winning but the effort has to be there and so far few have showed this. In fact a word i dislike sums up our season so far. WOEFULL !!!!

Matt brought people in he thinks can do the job, its not his fault if they are playing like they dont want it, things are taken out of MC's hands when the players are on the pitch, what i dont get is when we play well everyone praises the players but when they play back its suddenly the coach's fault. i echo what others have said, last season people called for his head and then he turned it round and him and the lands worked wonders for us. have some faith in them!

Re: Time for Calland to go? : Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:38 am
I am pretty lost for words with regards to Sundays effort. We were that bad. The concern has to be why it happened. If mat has lost the respect of the players then he would need to go. I hope this isn't the case as we have seen great things from a large portion of this team so capability isn't the reason.

My biggest concern is thinking things will come right given time. It is highly possible that we will go into round six of the league program bottom of the table on one point. Regardless of our potential to improve that will put us right in The muck. If mat is to stay then things need to change very quickly. That's down to him as a coach to rally the team and as importantly, the under performing lot that refused to bend their backs on Sunday and tackle, to look in The mirror and be ashamed of what they did!
