"paid regularly, when agreed" as in "I get paid monthly, on the 21st of the month.
This whole thread is based on rumours. The rumours last season, from a few Fax fans and RL fans elsewhere were that if you didnt win the GF prizemoney you would be in the s**t. Rumours at the game on Thursday were that some of your players hadnt been paid for a fair few weeks, all rumours mind, could be complete untruths. Tiger came to us from Donny where he wasnt getting paid regularly and he often states how happy he has been at Batley. Rettie has said how happy he is at Batley etc etc
Over the years Halifax have had more sucess than Batley but we are talking next season here. Can any of you deny that if the lads mentioned on here stay at Batley and our new coach adds 3 or 4 good quality signings then there is a chance Batley will be more sucessful than Fax next year? There isnt much between us now so unless they are unhappy why change? The Grass isnt always greener!!
Had we not potentially signed such a high profile coach I would agree with you that they would follow karl if he asked them, but I really feell JK will make them think twice. If they leave they will leave with my best wishes for the future as Karl does and Batley will sign new players and will again be a force in the CC next season. good luck in the playoffs!

Don't get me wrong as I like Batley as a club. Great RL town with a proud history. However I do think that saying Batley are a force is a little over stated. Knocked out of NRC early, no real run in Challenge Cup and out of the play offs at 1st attempt. Not really a force. Granted beat us twice in league but we were very poor this season, yet still managed a NRC Final and possibly 2 games away from a 3rd on the bounce GF. if I were Batley I'd be excited about what is to come but if JK does come BUT he has no experience of coaching at thus level, will have a vastly reduced budget and no get out of jail card in the form of a millionaire owner. Karl is well versed in Championship rugby and has built a very tight squad on a small budget, no mean feat. JK will have expectation on his shoulders to improve next season but I'm not sure he will. I for one think KH is a major loss to Batley no matter who comes in to replace him. Players look to what they know and this will attract players through loyalty to follow KH. Believe it or not but the draw of the shay and it's playing surface also has a bearing you may not think about.
Also whilst I'm here please leave off the Cr@p regarding non payment of players you spout. Not true at all so leave off the rubbish mate. Poor thing to say that and utter tosh.

There are a number of posters here who are giving the impression that a contract offer from Fax is impossible to decline, Its your forum and I wouldnt expect anything else. But im just trying to point out how some view your club elsewhere. There have been a number of cokc ups over the last few years be various people at the club, the latest being a crapp SL application and we dont all regard Fax as big a club as the Fax fans do(I do regard you as a bigger club than Batley before I get shot down). I am in no doubt the KH will be a big draw for players but I dont think things will be as clear cut as is being made out on here. so far we have had six our our squad named as nailed on for Fax, If you sign them all then you too may have a poor run in the Challenge Cup and get kocked out NR cub and playoffs at the first stage!!

John Kear HAS got experience of coaching outside the SL, you're totally incorrect there. I imagine if he is our new coach he will have spoken at great length with our chairman about financial restrictions and will be going into the position with his eyes wide open. I'm sure he will 'adapt' to life in the Championship fairly easily and do a fine job. I expect him to bring an a whole host of hungry young players - mainly from SL Academies. Karl Harrison has been terrific for Batley, no one can deny that, but lets not pretend that he is 'The Messiah' - his game plan and tactics are pretty simple - the likes of Mark Aston have him absolutely taped. I'm grateful for everything he has achieved with us, but I'm not shedding any tears whatsoever at his departure. There's one reason why he hasn't been given another opportunity in SL - he's not good enough.

What exp does JK have then, apart from 1 season 20 years ago at Bramley. The rest is all in SL either as Head or Asst Coach?? So enlighten me?? It's a tough league to cinch if you don't know your way around it and I for one think JK may take some time to get go grips with it.

At least he has that experience. What differences do you think he will have trouble 'cinching', apart from the fact that the game at this level is slower than SL and at part-time level we normally have 3 training sessions a week as opposed to 5? Either way, I think its time that you stopped trying to put a downer on our appointment, which will undoubtedly overshadow your capture of Harrison.

The guy wins you your only trophy in living memory and without him you would be in the division below...me thinks the grapes are sour!

Not at all, I'll be eternally grateful for the job he did at Batley. However, he's not 'The Messiah' of coaching as some of your fans seem to think, and operates to a very rigid, basic gameplan that comes unstuck up against any opposition coach with half a brain. I'm sure you'll find that out after the first few games of the 2012 season. As I stated previously, he's not good enough for Super League, and thats why he's not currently coaching there. Apart from one half-decent season at Salford, his record there wasn't exactly inspiring, was it? Certainly not inspiring enough for anyone to jump at the chance of appointing him since he was sacked, anyway.
