Defensively we were shocking - black had his poorest game for fax ; as did most others - at least Worrincy tried to make good yards.
full credit to sheffield - they wanted it more, played the right tactics ; their kicking game was spot on - fully deserved their win.
just heard mc on radio.gracious in defeat.
blacks gone to hospital for an x-ray on his leg - hope its just precautionary.

I thought Worrincy had a good game ,Black had a shocker could have done with going off earlier ,then he could have sorted his head out and wouldn`t have got injured.
Their forwards had ours well beat too and what`s all this about us not being able to play well in the rain ? They are not a bunch of Show Ponies if they can`t play in the rain it`s time to pack in.

We were always going to lose a match lets hope this is the only one.

Terrible, that sums up todays performance.

Well done Sheffield, far superior in every department.

Our players do make life hard for themselves a lot of the time, even in games we win. Today we'd just got back to 16-16, Thamgart takes the ball up from the kick off, he's got 4 men around him so tries a ridiculous offload and we lose the ball. People will say this is how we play and we have to expect mistakes with the style we play but maybe we have to learn when to adapt to the conditions/circumstances and play a different style.

Then with about a minute or 2 to go Paterson tries a little chip over the top and Sheffield catch the ball and then go down the other end and score again to deny us a bonus point. Even if we had regained the ball and scored there wouldn't have been enough time for us to score again.

I'm disappointed we lost but not surprised, think we got out of jail at Barrow and Fev. The important thing now is how we react, look at Manchester United, they lost at fulham about 8 matches ago and then won 7 on the trot from then. Thats what champion teams do.

Overall a poor day at the office but i'll still be there at Donny on Thursday hopefully watching my team bounce back.

It was nice to see Gibbo roll back the years and score a good try too.

Sheffield deserved the win they were the better team today.
Fax were their own worst enemies consistently turning the ball over on the first tackle most notably when we had just scored to level at 16 all and
when sheffield had been marched back another 10 metres for backchatting a penalty, and we might have got a bonus point had Patterson not chosen to kick forward again on the first tackle late on and turn possesion over again!
We've all enjoyed the exciting open rugby the team has played this season but sometimes you have to mix it up and play some basic settling sets and build pressure.
Hopefully the team will put together another long sequence of wins and learn a few things from today

Garbage today folks. It looked as though the squad had just met for the first time this morning - hopefully it's just a bad day at the office but we've now lost two on the trot. Confidence won't be so high going to Doncaster on Thursday night. We missed Gleeson terribly, we just had no go forward whatsoever. Hopefully, the defeat will have hurt the players - that's the best aid to getting back to winning.

For those who put words in the mouths of Halifax fans - i didn't read any people on here saying we'd go undefeated. Plenty said we were miles ahead of the other teams - Matt Calland included. I still believe that.

Up the Fax !!!!
