Hes not, hes actually a fan.

I will give one reason Quins should be kicked out and its the same for Crusaders. They are boring, thats right they bore the life out of everyone. Apart from Quinns and Crusader fans who picks up the paper and sees either team is on Sky and thinks great i cant wait to watch that? Neither team has any hope of ever competing near the top of SL, they are there just to make the numbers up and make it an expansion sport. Thats fine though because it dosnt matter what happens on the field does it.

We were being badly run by fatty wood at the time. What's your excuse for the vast open spaces at the stoop?

Oh hang on a minute

If you wanna talk about attendances talk about lowest average over time spent in super league and then the london experiment will finally win a competition!

For what its worth gutterfax. I think london should have a SL club. Its a good club and has genuine rugby league people supporting it. Always been good whenever I've been, if quiet!

There is great development going on down here, by all involved. Question is though - as the kids don't visit the stoop does london need a SL club for this development to continue?

The number of people from SL clubs visiting this board that don't normally visit suggests it could be squeaky bum time for some and fax are the target of their frustration.

Shows how far our little club has come eh folks?

You mean when we were getting tonked every week? Five straight wins at the start of your season and you're still struggling to get 3,000. Here's a fact for you - Halifax RFLC's average attendance whilst in Super League is higher than that of Qiuins. At the height of our success in the eighties we regularly pulled 8,000 to 9,000. What happened after your lot put in a Wembley appearance? The potential in London is staggering - so everyone says.

I'll get to that in a minute...but first

Looked everywhere, but for the life of me, I Ccan't find where the RFL have said away fans are a key criteria? That said, I would expect Fax to take more away fans to a game that is a short bus journey away and not a 450 mile round trip on a Friday. Still, if you can find an article where the RFL have stated away support is a key criteria, be a good chap and post a link to it here :SUBMISSION:

...Ho hum. Here we go again. David Hughes supports us, the same way other owners pump money into their clubs. With the exception of Leeds and Hull, no other RL club in ESL makes a profit, but it is widely accepted that Harlequins RL are completely debt free...we don't even have an overdraft. We are cash neutral.
Now, if this was some sort of effort to imply that the RFL give us loads of extra money I will wait for the links to the proof of this......

Now, back to the bit at the start....why Quins are better than Halifax? Well, if I am honest, they probably aren't except for our ground, award winning community team, development of local talent that is being picked for England at all levels, totally 100% debt free, not another club within miles so pretty good for spreading the game.....BTW, more and more kids play the game in the SE every year as a direct result of Harlequins RL....and then there's my personal favourite.....though it has never been proved, SKY TV and their cheque book....no London team, less monry and the thing you all aspire to, ESL becomes semi-pro.......

I like Fax....always have done and I have no doubt that if you keep your powder dry you will get into ESL in the next few years....but I do get a tad tired of everyone using quins as an example of failure......YES...THEY NEED TO SORT OUT THE LACK OF FANS......but in every other area they are a success.

Now, I can't speak for Crusaders, but Since ESL started, FULHAMCRUSADERBRONCOQUINS have finished 2nd, reached 2 other play-offs and made the CC final.....I believe that when compared to other clubs in ESL, this record puts us ahead of other teams......so yes, we do have a hope of challenging for honours. We have also never finished in a relegation position....unlike quite a few teams over the years.

On the subject of your 2003 average attendances......

littlerich wrote:

So...fairweather fans then eh
littlerich wrote:

2480 actually...terrible but thank god attendances are only 1 part of the licence thingy!

Oh, goody...FACTS. Here's one for you....we have never finished in a relegation position...you did, you didn't bounce back and now you find yourselves exiled for maybe another 3 years......as I said above, I like FAX, I believe you will be in ESL sooner rather than later, but don't try to blame anyone other than your own club for the position you find yourselves in today
