Calland had Brannighan, Black (on form) and Royston with an immense pack to boot, plus Fev were just starting to evolve as consistent championship peformers.

I could have coached a GF win that day

Once the pack are fully fit and our 6&7 combinations have more serious game time I think we'll take some stopping this season.. The CC will be very interesting for both teams also.

I'm not sure it's as simplistic as that. That hypothesis makes an assumption that the returning players will play better than those who took to the field yesterday, which I think sells those players short. The fax players punched well above their weight yesterday and in my limited opinion, those injured players wouldn't have delivered that much more!
The big problem is keeping those players happy when they will inevitably stand back down to the 23's. They did themselves and their club no harm at all yesterday.

not that simple for them to return straight to the team, worrincy, patterson, morrison, barlow, aizue, divorty and casey would all walk back into most teams in this division. what yesterday showed is the strength in depth fax now have.

You played well yesterday and that is not in dispute,but consistency is the key I think both coaches will have learnt a lot from that game. I was really pleased with how we came back at you from 22-6 down on your own patch with a largely Fax backed crowd. A test of a great team is how you react when things are not going well for you, discipline confidence etc...We have a long season ahead and it is too early for anyone to start popping the corks..

I think you would find it more difficult at our place , having said that any other coaches/fans that watch the match back on DVD will have seen that the bar has been raised this season.

I tipped Fax,leigh and FEV to be in the mix all season with the spoils switching back and forth all season.From what Ive seen I see no reason to change my prediction and don't think that you will be able to put a fag paper between those 3 sides in 2012...If we all manage to keep our injuries in check that is. Good Luck to all 3 teams..

Some very good and well informed posts here. Really enjoyed this thread. Nice to see both sets of fans talking about the greatest game instead of arguing. looking forward to another great season!
