Harrison will spout his usual drivel that its not good enough, tired bruised bodies etc etc.... However personally I think as much as we've made certain strides off the field and he's undoubtably Halifax through and through he's taken the team backwards in 2 years and are equally inconsistent and roll over too easily. I just don't think he's capable to do anything about it... Ultimately it's his player recruitment that's got us here. My only hope is we've done a Widnes and been saving some dollar as we'd ticked the box already. Now that it looks like p&r is returning and the top 2 next season will get a fair wedge to increase budgets etc I'm hoping Harrison has been bluffing these last 2 years!! If he ain't we are in the doo....
I think it's impossible to tell what the landscape will be like in 2015 apart from the fact that there
will be opportunities for clubs not in SL to better their position and join the top ranks. When Cas/Hull KR/Widnes/Salford escaped from this league we SHOULD have taken their berth at the top but we've fallen short. When those clubs were down here with us Featherstone and Sheffield were nowhere near the top. Now they've leapfrogged us with ease. Frustrating.
It's not disastrous. We're not dying. We're still a top Championship club. But when people talk about the teams vying for that progression through the 3x8 playoffs I don't think we're in the mix. We're just coming up short. It's great that we've had success with the GF win and the NRC but we're just not consistent enough. Another damp squib end of season fayre will see us struggling to attract 1,500 next year and that brings it's own problems. It's a tough old game innit?
