Nail on the head. We need a more settled team - whoever we sign.

Agreed. KH`s interview begs the question of how that could possibly happen when we have 6 or 7 options for key positions. I know Im ignoring the fact that some would be tried in friendlies but it isnt until the games get meaningful that you can really tell.

So you dont rate the championship young player of the year then? If Johnstone is better than him he must be a good one then.

No I dont really rate him. I think Thackery is better than Brierley. I think both would do a good job at mid table teams but once again it boils down to us wanting to be a top 2 team. Fev will make some big signings and are splashing the cash like it has gone out of fashion to make sure they end up in the important top 2 next season. Sheffield will be very good once again and dont really need to improve to be challenging for the top 2.

Batley will make some money from getting to the GF but I doubt they have the spending power to trouble the top 2. Leigh are making some signings but again doubt they will trouble the top 2. That leaves us, we need to push on and break in to that top 2 next season, it isnt a season where we can afford to mess about trying different things, it is so important to make sure we are there next season. I believe with the people at the club this can be made to happen but with KH in charge of the team I cant say im convinced it will.

Just what the Fax need, a Lovely lad......

Come on Neil, Seriously, you have put earlier that Brown is a Proven Championship Grand Finalist, So what, KH got rid of a team full of Championship Winners becuase he doesnt like lads that arnt local or want/feel they deserve more, Instead we pay a certain player more money than he is worth, dont play him half of the year and let the best hooker outside of SL go to one of our biggest rivals, We signed lots of Injured or Injury prone players. I dont think KH or his coaching staff are able from what i have seen over the last 2 seasons to recruit the calibre of player that Fax should be attracting, Instead they seem to be chossing Rival clubs, My question is why is that ?. From a players point of view that is.

Martin Hall new where to look and what to get and brought in some truely Inspired players. other than a Small Handfull in Murrell, Manning, Ambler, Tonks I am not too impressed with what we have 2 seasons of recruitment to show.

No idea on Johnston, but young English half-back sounds good to me. If he is anything in the Rob Burrow mould (as K-H states) he will take the line on! Simon Brown is an excellent signing! No, he won't score ** tries as Thacks has, however he had the kicking game that won Sheffield the grand final last season. If anyone can recall, Brambani hardly kicked a ball last season (fair enough, he is doing a decent job at it this season) Brown was the playmaker! Bring in a decent hooker who can shift the ball at speed (hopefully Ben Kaye) then I think we are looking good.

As mentioned before, the same pack will do it's own job. We do need another centre, but in reality I do like our current centres. People may say Tyrer is lapse defensively, however I actually think he is one player who has improved under K-H's coaching. Heaton is very solid and has the potential to be an excellent player.

*p.s. Hopefully Holder gets some game time also, he can shift the ball at speed and looked good the last 3 games!

Some of it has to come down to style of rugby. Worrincy cant get in the team despite been one of the best wingers in the league for mine. Players are punished for making mistakes by been dropped which is right to a point but if those flair players are so afraid of making mistakes that they dont want to try anything because of fear of losing their place then all of a sudden we end up with the type of rugby that we are seeing.

Karl Harrison cant even use the excuse that he knows the Fax fans want to see exciting rugby because at the end of the day he has taken over a team that was playing exciting rugby. He wants structure and safe hence the signings of Brown and Mennell, the problem of structured and safe is that when it does not work like against Sheffield you have no game breakers that can produce a touch of magic that can pull you out of the mire and put you back in the game ala Black and Penky.

The days of bums on seats players at Fax will not return with our current coach. If thats what it takes to win stuff then I wont complain but Im pretty sure some have already or will vote with their feet.

Not sure why people are buying in to this young English thing but anyway I do agree if we sign Kaye and Johnston does turn out to be a really good signing then we should go well. I also agree that we dont really need a centre, I think Tyrer and Heaton are good enough and expect Heaton to get a lot better with the right coaching.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Ey up Starry lad!! You still boycotting the Leythers?

Not boycotting as such, just bored with it, no real intensity without promotion, and lack of matchday ' feelgood ' due to the sterile ' hospital feel' LSV with 1,300 inside it

I was enjoying the away games better for a couple of seasons, but too busy to commit the time at the minute

Might change next year with the rush for the cash , or perhaps 2015 might be interesting when we have a couple of big boys to try to knock over

Anyway you're still crap, win nothing again next year with big Karl
