SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Communication is THE biggest issue at Leigh at the moment, both good and bad, we have plenty of info, but also the club commenting publically via the unofficial forum on any minor criticism or even question asked, all very ' touchy ' and it is hard to strike the perfect balance
Fax4life. I suggest you read and digest your original post and subsequent ripostes. I didn't mean to cause a stink, just think your original post is tactless, abrupt and thoughtless.
But then again, I was unaware that there is a rule that states the further you live from Halifax and less likely you are to make midweek meetings, the less you care about the club and the less you need to know about the place.
I'd love to know how you suggest people help out at the club or feel positive about the club when they're not allowed to have first clue about what's going on.
Indeed, your last post will further drive speculation and innuendo. Well done
We have Members all over the country and they are all very welcome. Read my reply again please as I said Mike asked us not to repeat what was said, if you have an issue with that take it up with him (sorry Mike). My original post was just saying that we don't post our members meetings discussions on a message board as why would you need memberships if we did? If it came across abrupt, sorry but it was just brief and to the point.
I think it's maybe a frustration that it is perceived that not enough communication and/or activity is coming from the club. Then, a post appears which suggests the club has given out information but it's for members only. I don't think there's any great conspiracy but just unfortunate timing. The club should re-engage with fans because the perception is (true or otherwise) that activity is drying up.
Just to clarify and to reply to those who think we are in the clubs 'pocket' I agree the club need to look at how they are communicating with the fans as right now things are poor in my opinion, the App is not used much and we did not even have a players profile at the start of the season anywhere (they used to do one in the Courier). To be fair to the club they are having a hard time right now but no excuses the fans are the clubs biggest asset along with the players.

There we go again, the club are having a hard time of if lately. Are they ?. Why is that then ?. Wait, you have to pay and turn up to a meeting to find out why the club are having a hard time!. Jesus Christ, how can they expect the town to get behind them when nobody knows the problems.
I saw a post the day the club were locked out saying nobody was at the shop, the office, etc etc. people were asking questions, the day after a picture on twitter appears pretending everything is ok. Clearly it isn't and wasn't. But hey the club are fine on the outside appearance, only for the courier to later release the article saying we were locked out and the council had to make a stand. Worrying times, if the ostriches pulled their head out of the sand looked for new ideas and people then great, unfortunately we are in decline, and if anyone can honestly say different I'm surprised. Yes we had the Calland era and that was fantastic, crowds were increasing, slowly yes but still the right direction. What since?.

John I get where you are coming from but surely an "open" meeting where potential new members can come along to join is a little naive of a board member to request what goes on at the shay stays at the shay....?? You seriously expect all in attendance to not discuss what was mentioned out and about or in a pub...?? Or is this another case of the club sharing info with the Trust board to keep them onside..?? If the latter is the case this was one of my major gripes as you know and how the club in my opinion tries to control the trust. If it's good enough to tell the trust it's good enough to tell all supporters in my humble opinion. At a time when a huge wedge could potentially come between the club and it's supporters due to the poor communication many feel the club is currently guilty of the trust has a huge part to play and impartiality is essential....
That's what the internet & social media is for, sounds to me like if we don't join the trust, or even worse, actually attend the meetings we don't get to find out what's going on.
I'll tell you what mate, if you or the TRUST aren't prepared to open up on the fans messageboard and actually post that fact, then i'm not prepared to put anymore spare cash in the trust buckets, raffles etc etc because of that attitude. I won't buy a matchday programme or buy a half time draw ticket either, that's if i actually attend many more games, 'cos if tomorrow's showing is as poor as last season's & what i've heard about last sunday i can find more suitable things to do with my time & money.
I think the sensible thing to do is remove your comment.
I completly agree with you that the Trust was set up by supporters for supporters and that is just what all the Board members are "supporters ", nothing more nothing less. I have been a supporter since 1953 and have seen a good many ups and downs and during that time have been lucky enough when the Club has had particularly bad times to be able to financially support them as I had a business . When I retired a few years ago I decided to put my bit of spare time to good use in trying to help fundraise for the Under 20s as when I was in business I used to sponsor the youngsters as I believe in enableing local kids to play for their own Town team.I am extremely proud of the work that the Supporters Trust do in regards of fundraising and it frees up the money that the Club would have to spend on them . I cannot answer the question as to why you do not receive the e-mails as I do not have lists of members but if you pm Jon Crowther (Faxforlife) I am sure he will sort it out for you . I can however answer the question as to wether or not we get free season tickets / meals etc . The answer is a resounding NO and I do not expect to get anything for free from the Club I don`t do anything and expect something for it . I buy a season ticket which allows me one free meal (like every other season ticket holder) I pay to park the car in the Club car park so I don`t have to carry the buckets too far from the ground . We even spend a good deal of time organising events and like everyone else pay for the tickets because we are fans so why shouldn`t we ,that includes sponsoring players etc . I don`t have a ticket to go into the hospitality post match ,why should I ,everything I do is on a voluntary basis and I do it to help the Club out .I know times are tough at the Club at the moment but is the answer for all of us to start turning against each other ,Chris is right plenty of food for thought here.
And thank god foe people like you. There are many at the club who do Stirling work for the love of the club and game. I don't think that is in question, but what is in question is the attitude that was inferred on here , which was "its our club if you want to know what us said either join the club or turn up at the meeting"

Once again a difficult one to get right, there are obvious issues, especially with the council regarding the Shay, sometimes a question and resulting answer then passed on second hand can be misconstrued or not taken in the right context, sometimes giving rise to further questions that really needed to be asked on the night, but if the person bringing up these queries isnt in attendance, then it can further complicate things
Something the club do need to sort out fairly soon I would have thought
