FWIW to all you Fax guys, I really hope for a good tough challenge in the Championship this year rather than a stroll in the park, which incidentally did Leigh no favours come the 8's.
Before I continue let me make myself crystal clear, of all the Yorks Clubs, I would prefer some success for Fax over any of them.
I suppose the reason behind this is the similarities between both Clubs. Neither have had huge money behind them, both have enjoyed high times & success but much more in the way of adversity & both live in the shadows of bigger, wealthier & more successful Clubs.
Now my main point is that with the investment from DB in Leigh I feel it pushes all the other Clubs in the Championship that much further, raising standards hopefully across the board. Sure, some Clubs just won't cope but larger Clubs such as Fax, Bulls, Eagles etc will have to *& will* go so much harder & smarter than ever before.
Investment by the usual suspects in this League should give rise to an exceptional season, media interest & therefore further investment & commitment into Championship RL Clubs by sponsors.
I hope there will be a rise in average gates across the Championship, bringing in increased revenue & therefore more investment into quality players ....
Can you see where I am going with this ?
Success breeds success & money comes as part of that, in turn breeding more success, it's a circle we can help grow as fans of clubs attending our Clubs games & buying the merchandise etc.
As an example Leigh have already sold over 1,000 season tickets *not bragging* just a fact.
I sincerely hope that Fax continue to grow & play to a high level, as well as Bulls, Eagles etc, because as we/the Clubs continue to push each other to higher standards, eventually it will bear fruit.
Only then come the 8's will we see the established SL Clubs really enter twitchy bum time.
Best of luck to Fax, Best of luck to Leigh & Best of luck to Championship RL.
