Anyone who thought we had turned the corner after last week is seriously deluded. Today was a poor performance against a lacklustre Barrow team.

Lets go through the team:-

Greenwood - I thought he had his best game since his return from injury.
White - Looked lively and got through a lot of work.
Haley - Usually steady but all the tries while he was on the pitch came down his side. We must be short if he keeps his place for next week.
Nash - Steady but missed a few tackles.
Worrincy - Got through a load of work again.
Hollroyd - I was embarrased when he pulled out of that 50/50 ball in the second half and a very average game overall.
Jones - Honestly whos idea was it for us to sign him? Passing is average at best and his discipline terrible.
Gannon -See above.
Penky - Good coach? Ah Penky you had your best game in weeks for us when you played 80 minutes, i know i will just give you 40 minutes this week. See the momentum go out of the team when he goes off. Feel sorry for him that the players around him arnt performing with the amount of effort and desire he puts in.
Cherryholme - Only real go forward forward today.
Clayton - Steady at best.
Smith - Why?
Barlow - One of his better games this season.
Chandler - Looks to be getting better.
Fairbank - Didnt notice him.
Beswick - Not sure where he fits in to the team.
Watene- 10 minutes before half time and 7 minutes after half time, no team can afford to carry passengers but for some reason MC thinks we can carry about 5.

We are paying the price of Matt Callands poor recruitment in the summer. We are not in a false position, we are exactly where we deserve to be. We have more coaches than players and im not sure what purpose they all serve. We wont see any improvement in the short term and watching Bradford put 80 on us in front of National television is going to be painful to watch. The crowds will keep dwindling but the board cannot act until they know what is happening with the SL application. By then we will be well and truly in a relegation dog fight.

I may be a knob sometimes and people will disagree with a lot that i say but i always try to be honest in my assesment.

I just wonder if the club's hands were tied. What negotiations took place during the close season. How many were already contracted? What effect did a reduced cap have on negotiations? Are the players on a lot less than last year? Did the board and coach get carried away with the GF winning squad? Replace the few that left with half-decent players and we'll be up near the top again? I know i certainly got carried away with the end result of 2010. We certainly shouldn't be second bottom. Yes, Shad and Branno were influential players and Ben Black isn't the Ben Black of old but still - second bottom? Come on Fax

Looking at today's match - too much work having to be done by White and Worrincey - when it should be done by the forwards. Sorry - but Gannon is stealing a wage. Cherryholme is our most improved player - from his paper-weight like attack he's at least stepped up in that department but it isn't enough. And did you see Barrrow's speed of play? Twice the enthusiasm in the second half.

When we were 18-6 up we got a penatly. What did we do? - we rushed the move - tapped it and flung it out haphazzardly and eventually Rob knocked on. Olly should have kicked for touch and put pressure on their line. Had we scored it would have been 24-6 going in at half time.

A team that is 12 points up at one point and who don't even get a bonus point at the end has serious problems.

I can't believe though that we are where wd are! There is still enough quality in that squad to beat some of the sides we've lost to this season. Calland has never seemed to be able to get the side worked up and passionate! When ever we say the BS in the paper we generally play pi$$ poor the next game!! I'm feeling totally disillusioned right now

Can't fault that GFB but the big question is where do we go from here?. Our chances of Super League chances ,are fast dissapearing, we are looking at a potential humiliation on national tv next Sunday, a coach who looks like a dead man walking with a squad who either can't or won't play for him. With a £350k salary cap I don't think there would be much room for manovering even if replacements were avaliable. We have been rumbled, other sides have worked out how to stop us and we don't know what to do next.

We haven't had a plan B for nearly 3 seasons but had players to dig us out of a hole!! They just don't seem to want to do that either this year!! It's the lethargy and lack of pride I hate

Sad as it is after last season but we fight like mad to avoid relegation. Realistically the league is over for us and we will have to fight to stay up but we have a big Semi Final over at Fev to look forawrd to and maybe just maybe the players can produce another big performance and we can make it to another showcase event. Thats what we have to cling to for the minute.

Oh and our kicks to touch - whats that all about. Might be something worth working on. On second thoughts with our defence maybe put that on the back burner for the time being.

That pretty much sums it up for me.

In terms of Beswick I think where he fits in is fairly simple.

Penky plays 80 as hooker. Bob plays loosed forward and Barlow props. Nobody seems to actually know what their job is in the team at the moment.
When Beswick was injured at the end of last season Penky had to put in 80 minute games and we won a lot more than we lost. Not hard is it?

We can all see our best games are with penky doing 80 mins, how the chuff Calland can't see it beats me?
