FC,
I think it just boils down to the fact that FN could not get control within Wigan, Cas or Fax and he would have just been another member of the board. At Fev he has been given a bigger opportunity to have his say. Therefore he has been more willing to "invest" in our club. The way he has done a lot of this is by buying shares which has given him a majority holding in the club. There are dangers in this for us as we have some assets in terms of land (14 acres) however if he was really interested in stripping this why would he not have come to Fev first?
All I think he wants is the kudos of having his company name associated with a successful team and the highest possible level. This is free publicity for Probiz, would you have heard about Probiz without the association to RL? Again there is a danger in here that FN could become bored of this association Fev and possibly leave us in the lurch.
For the moment I’ll take where we are and go with the ride. I have seen many lows during the last 40+ years so I am happy to go with the highs that we have at the moment. To be honest even 2 years ago I thought that there was no way that Fev would be able to get into SL. Although the board at Fev has been working towards meeting the criteria to enter SL (e.g. ground improvements had already started), the introduction of FN has allowed us to accelerate some of this work. Now I actually believe there is a chance that we could make SL, though I maybe just deluded.
Yep some good point made.
With Faisal I think it was Fax who first approached him, before that he had very limited experience or knowledge if any of Rugby league or which clubs were in what league.
I remember when he hird about there being no promotion and relegation he was totaly dumfounded that a sport with leagues and divisions did not have that in place.
Maybe now there is a proposed pathway and he has settles at Rovers what's the point of moving and as you say he can make things happen from the top.
I really do hope Fev get to SL at some point, they deserve it and without that how could they keep the forward momentum that they have been working hard at and building on over the last 4 or 5 years.
If you don't move forward you slow down, eventually stop and then go backwards.
