I dont have anything against you Gavin for trying to stop the sale of The Shay. But the accusations of what Mr Abbott and others have alleged to have done and your friends over on Shaymen.net, finding it OK to liken Mr Abbott to a Childmolester and accusing him and Mr Steele, as well as the Council, of backhand dealings etc is very wrong. The way a number of your friends over on your forum, have made and continue to make wild accsations and feel its OK to drive somebody out the Town just for wanting to buy the Shay is a disgrace. You dont want the sale of The Shay fair enough and your campaign to stop it OK. But to be part of this campaign to put Mr Abbott in a bad light as much as possible is not.
You claim to be a Rugby fan, like a number of your fellow fans, yet all you do is talk down the Rugby Club. Thats not a fan. The club are far from perfect, but the likes of Abbott, Steele, Riley etc have put much time and effort in to get the club where it is often in a voluntary basis. The record is they have brought a club that was close to going under, to one that is now making small profits and breaking sponsorship deal records.
What angers me is the way you and the Mods have allowed a hate campaign to grow and grow on the Shaymen.net forum against Fax and the likes of Abbott. Steele, etc. The hate campaign against Mr Abbott is now questioning the authenticity of the Heartbeat of Sport. I know the work these guys do and for nothing. Its a disgrace to question the motives of these people.
And by the way I dont even read, let alone post on the Courier Website.
