How do you properly monitor the cap? Ah yes the NRL have done a great job of that. Just look at Melbourne Storm and many others who have managed to dodge the Levels for years and no doubt the same in the UK. Very easy to get a sponsor to "Gift" something to a player or for a player to receive a sum at a later date in cash. A club probably will declare what they have payed out in contracts and what a win/lose basis is.

Are you doubting the integrity of the RFL and our club? :NAUGHTY:

I doubt the RFL especially Wood & Lewis with their antics! But I also question how you can properly regulate a salary cap properly. How can you possibly know a club hasnt done underhand dealings or has used various means to beat the cap? Melbourne Storm did it for years without the NTL noticing. How can the RFL say that Halifax, Barrow, St.Helens, Leeds e or whoever have stuck 100% to the cap? St.Helens have cleverly used various systems to beat the cap like offshore accounts etc.

The risk is - having your books fully audited. The only way around it really is for an outside body to make payments to players.

eg: an outside sponsor (Harvey's for example) employs a player to wait on tables part time (for example) and pays him £40 an hour. I don't think the remit of the RFL extends to auditing sponsors books. I'm not sure either if the RFL can enquire upon the HMRC for a copy of one's P60 - seriously doubt it.

Anyhoo - nothing like that happens. All parties are honest and upfront about all matters pertaining to cash.

Also AS AN EXAMPLE what is to stop Steve O Connor, Des Johnson or somebody with money opening up a trust with say X amount in and that only Player X can get the money in 5 years time? Are the RFL going to look into peoples private accounts to chase it up and how much effort would they do in to looking in to it. I am no accountant but I bet there are a few ways around the cap and as long as you leave no paperchase and everything is done professionally, then it cant be traced by the RFL.

Id would be shocked if it were true but i guess theres not many coaches about who could be brought in to help out without it looking bad on MC. With Noble i guess they could put a good spin on it about them been old mates and it shouldnt undermine MC too much.

I've heard how much you get paid to moderate this forum.

It's a princely sum :-)
