Nobody is against the club attempting to better the onfield performances against teams with more money. Its just some people see Dual Reg for what it has done time and time again; weaken the lower division team in order to develop the SL team's youngsters. Which, by the way, is exactly what it is designed to do.

Pinballwizard you say we aren't a big club any more and I agree with you. That also means that we aren't in a position to dictate terms to the parent club and it will end as all the others have done; either we play the players they want us to or the partnership ends and because we have no other option we will bow the pressure. Next off-season the half dozen players that turned down contracts elsewhere this off-season will bugger off and we will be left with exactly the substandard type of player that Harrison brought in and a few Hull KR fringe players that didn't make it in SL so stayed with us.

This is not a solution to anything, its a panic move that will leave us worse off. We might not be a big club any more, but in the 140 year history of our club this without doubt its lowest point. Halifax RLFC is Hull KR's reserve team. Dress it up anyway you want, bury your head in the sand and convince yourself that we will be different to every other dual reg. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I would rather watch our own players fail to make the middle eight than this.

You clearly have not bothered reading the statement both clubs put out, It is a partnership and RM will decide if he wishes to use any of HKR players who are available.

This is how it works from somebody whose been there

Parent club has non essential players it wants to get regular game time for, child club decides if any are of interest

Parent club has fringe players it wants to get game time for, child club decides if any are of interest

Parent club has first teamers returning from injury it needs to get fit, child club decides if any are of interest

Any of the above take the place of a first team player at the child club whose contract is heavily made up by win bonus's

The more experienced players often were the least effective as they simply treated it as either a punishment or a run out, the biggest culprits imo being Burke and Hughes for us.

The question is do you need any long term DR's to bolster the squad, these tend to be 19/20 yo's not in the top 25, are you looking to fill holes as they arise or gain advantage when you can if HKR are without a game - you tend to find out late in the week who is available and get one training session out of them

Come on there is no way Chester will help you get to the middle 8. You are now HKR first reserve practice team, Gateshead are second reserve. The fact that there are three teams in the division who are almost full time is unfair but this is no way to combat it. I feel sorry for the fans who don't want this but having three coaches who are busom buddies is going to be very hard for you all. Good luck - one day you'll get your club back.

Exactly and what other clubs have done or will do with their DR arrangements is not automatically what Fax and HKR will do.
The BOD and coaching staff are fully aware of the all the pitfalls and drawbacks to how this has been used in the past, (especially RM being at Wire) and will have learned from it and use it only if there is a benefit from doing so.

There is no way HKR will be dictating to Fax that we have to play such and such a player or players when they say so or else.

As yet not one game has been played and not one HKR player has pulled on the blue and white and yet we have become their reserve team.

Fielding any player not signed to the club whether DR or on loan is just an temporary option of unknown duration.

Re: Hull KR Partnership : Sat Dec 20, 2014 5:17 pm
I'm sitting back and waiting to see how this pans out.

Richard Marshall looks to be a great coach, well respected and has also been coaching the England Schoolboys side (or similar) recently.

Karl Harrison oversaw the recruitment of the vast majority of this squad, no doubt if we beat bradford that will be pointed out.

I dont think we'll see too many players from HKR, and as long as we're not going to do a Swinton and start getting players like Ryan Bailey back to fitness then blooding a couple of youngsters for what could be similar to taking a player on loan then why not.

Past few years we've had some reasonable players on the traditional loan system, Kopzcyak (sp), Matt James, Mark Flanaghan ect. as well as some decent names on Dual Reg without an official tie up (J Fairbank).

Its not the end of the world, nor the end of the club, Gateshead have had a relationship with fax previously as well as Hull KR, its not like we're trading in Halicat for a red robin is it

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Even more pooh Chazza, we got out of that agreement as soon as we could after first getting rid of the folk who brought it in. The BoD who did it as a means to survive due to no cash and dwindling gates, if this is fax reason then fair enough, it may kick start what happened at Leigh after our DR fiasco when as a fan I felt abused every week due to my pride being ripped apart

Mo , I BOW   to your Superior Knowledge and show my respect :MOON: whatever our reason for the arrangement was we still did it ,Scott Taylors performance at Fev was superb , I agree about Burke and Hughes , but we also used Warrington and benefitted from their players on many occasions .Lets not knock Fax if they feel this is the right avenue to go down .
