Life under Calland was certainly a roller coaster although I think he had better players at his disposal. From what I can remember it all seemed to be going swimmingly until we played Featherstone the Friday night after coming back from Toulouse. I believe we were something like 20 nil up at half time and managed to lose it. After that you could see the confidence drain away and we were never really quite the same again.
I'll happily admit that I was pleased when KH agreed to join the club. I thought Calland was unable to take the club any further and IMO standards seemed to be getting sloppy as well as off the field incidents. Playing Miles Greenwood at Widnes when he knew he was injured was also a sacking offence on its own.
I honestly thought Harrison would bring the club closer together, bring discipline, stability to club and make us really hard to beat. It won't surprise you to know that I can't take one positive from his tenure, I know there behind the scenes stuff (usually financial) that don't help but for me it's been clear for a long time that his appointment has been a massive mistake.
At the minute what's going on down there is too painful to watch and I've never felt so detached from the club to be honest, there's only so much you can take. Someone asked if by some miracle we got to the GF would you go and yes of course I would but it would be mainly for the beer and the day out because folks we all know in our heart of hearts that our once famous club is Broke and not just in the financial sense either.
