Agree. That's why I think it would be a mistake to sign Widdop. Luke Gale didn't work out at Keighley (in fact he looked very ordinary for Keighley at the Shay, and they nearly beat us last Sunday without him). By the same token, that's why I'd have Inman over AOB who's now on the wrong side of 30.

Every side needs some experienced players on board but we already have a fair few of them so can’t see the sense in chasing a name whether that be GW or anyone else of his age group.

One problem with really young players that with the club and supporter base wanting and needing to to be competitive from the off usually when picking the team experience comes before youth and with no real reserve comp the latter hardly get a chance.

I would think that any additions would be of an in between age group who have a proven track record they can do the job the coach wants them to do now and all things being equal for a few years to come.

Nathan Peats at Huddersfield announced his retirement- Huddersfield have also announced those leaving which didn't include O'brien- may well mean he's going to see out the last year of his contract there. Disappointing if so as he was the best hooker I've seen at Halifax since Penky, but probably other areas of the team more in need of strengthening.

I there had been a choice I'd have gone for A O'b and Tom but with Brandon having another year and if A O'b is being retained then we could do worse than Moore and Inman.

One of the other players Cas have released Kieran Hudson as some potential. He is a prop and i think they signed him from Whitehaven and had big hopes for him. He is recovering from rupturing his achilles last pre season but once fit he could be worth looking at as well as Sutcliffe.

Yes I remember him getting him some good reviews but missed he had done his achi when he dropped of the radar.

If AOB is staying a huddersfield, we wouldn't go far wrong bringing Curtis Davies back from newcastle as a third hooker option imo
