Always going to end in tears after they signed the little ginger one. Never one for being a team player.

i can actually see that ellery hanley rumour happening.

always thought mcormack was a small time manager at ambitious clubs.

he never really had the luck to get teams to super league.

ellery hanley i think will be a good manager at widnes.

I can't work Ellery Hanley out as he must be a good coach like he was a good player but he seems to always have 'problems' which means he ends up leaving clubs on not too good a terms.
There must be something, does he think he is better than he is and bigger than the club or is it that he gets bored?
My guess is a bit of both, anybody had close experience of the guy as a coach?

i can see why this would be a favourate candidate for widnes though he is going to have a lot a to work with.

there is not much chance at the minute of getting a super league job so why not go to a club who will be one of the clubs that will be favourate for a franchise in 3 years.

give him some managerial experiance before he manages in super leaugue i would say it would be a perfect opportunity for him.

You've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how ya gonna have a dream come true?

Are you claiming all you are entitled to? www.debtadvicenetwork.org then go to "Self Help" then "Benefits & Entitlements".

I was going to say the same. He's only on the U21s staff at Huddesfield isn't he?

Having said that. Ellery Hanley being booted off Celebrity Come Dine With Get Me X Factor Get Me Out Of Here On Ice is a bit of a coincidence though.

How can you say that? With our past Coaching problems with formerly good players, I think we have enough proof to show that this isn't something you can take for granted.

the same Ellery Hanley who for years hardly gave any interviews, even when he was GB coach. He must have fallen on hard times to strop on the skates!

I can see why it looks like bad/ strange timing to sack the coach, but the owner had already stated at the end of last season, that he felt let down by the performances. Maybe at that point he was prepared to put his faith in McCormack and blame the players. This year we have pretty much strengthened in most areas and brought in exciting players such as Webster. What happened on the pitch though has been pretty bad. In 4 friendlies and 1 competitive game we've seen 1 decent half of rugby and the rest pretty bad.

I think SO'C must have said to himself - right lets cut to the chase, things aren't going to get any better under McCormack, it just going to be excuse after excuse and we'll have to sign player after to player to try to plug the gaps. With it being so early in the season at least it gives the new coach time to come in and assess things well before the league starts. If MCormack would have carried on and we'd been poor all season, it would have probably have been too late to rescue things. It may well have been hasty, but I don't think the owner wanted to take that risk of waiting and seeing how it panned out.

FAILURE ISN'T ABOUT FALLING DOWN, FAILURE IS STAYING DOWN..........

It appears that there are no financial restraints at Widnes rugby league club with having to pay MacCormack off and bring in a new bloke.
It's Official, the recession is no over

I couldn't give a monkey's who they get in as coach TBH full time sides shouldn't need coaching against part time sides in this day & age.

They pose no more of a threat than Fev, Sheffield are always difficult to turn over, Barrow away will be a difficult task. This will be a very difficult league to compete in, and folks keep trying to tell me there's nothing at stake HA HA HA !
I'd love to see us win the cup and the GF.
