I moved the old Ryan Clayton thread to the trash for obvious reasons. Please continue any discussion here. Mr Cas has been banned so don't worry about him gate crashing the thread again.

Simply he is not good enough and very unlikely to feature again. I am not sure why we signed him again and as many have said he never impressed a few years ago and he has never impressed at the various clubs he has been at. Sadly he choose Fax over York as he offers us NOTHING. Would be better to release him in my honest opinion as theres better in the U23s!

The guys played 3... 3! Competitive games for Fax and already people are asking for him to go. Ay dear...

Is this going to be another Cherryholme and Bannister situation?

I am talking about his whole career not just at Fax. He did nothing at Fax, Cas, Salford or Huddersfield in SL.

Bannister? Hes quality without any doubt what so ever. For me this is where our recruitment went south during the off season. Either MC was told or maybe a little bird in his ear that it would be beneficial if we signed some `Halifax` lads. Sadly messeres Clayton, Gannon, and Jones arnt up to the job.

For what its worth I think (inc Clayton) we signed some average players at the start of the off season probably because at that stage we were unsure who would be staying etc. Now we are left with too many players in certain positions and I think the club now feel the need just to give some of these players game time so it does not appear that they have made misjudgements. As a result of this we do not have a settled team like we had last year. I think each week we should go with the best available and if some do not play then so be it - they either work hard in training and wait for or a chance or should be moved on.

Shows what impact he has had that i forgot about him. Add him in to the not good enough catagory. The last season he played for us you could see he was past his best and this is 2 seasons later.
