Get voting though as for some reason there are more saying No than Yes.

think they are saying no as is better for the town and council to keep hold of it for both teams.

But like I said the Council do not run it to its full potential, a Stadium Company (not the 2 clubs) with a good stadium manager would do a much better job and both clubs would benefit.

Erm, they could sell it to a supermarket who could knock it down and build a store. The agreement with Sainsburys ended last year I believe.

no they dont. but prefer them to get it right than a private company.

I think the best solution would be to lease the stadium that way the ownership will never be an issue as its always owned by the Council but a long term lease would mean a Stadium Company can get on and run it better without having to beg for cash against social services, schools etc...

So you want people to vote yes, that the Council should sell the Shay, but think the best solution would be to see the Council lease it out?

It is pointless the Council leasing out the stadium because if the stadium management company goes tits up it will be back in the hands of the Council. Plus any external organisation would be adding another middle man wanting a cut of profits. The Council would want its rent for being land owner, the management company would want its cut, meaning costs would go up and potentially the clubs' rent.

Keeping it under the Council's control would be the best way, riding out the recession (£100k is pennies to the local authority) and then be creative in what they do with the available office space, etc. Blimey, if they want to be boring then why not just move certain Council offices into the space and then everyone's a winner.

i would think it`s a tad difficult to move any kind of office in there with no phones.
