Like many fans I am not a happy bunny the way things are at our club right now BUT I must reflect that one thing that we have not had this season is any luck - at all.

Why?

In the Batley NRC match we play bad one half and got what we deserved for it, but then pull out all the stops 2nd half only to get a 'harsh' call off the Ref, yer it was a penalty but only just and lots would have let it go he only put his hand on the guy trying to make a very quick play the ball, and lose the game.

We had got drawn at Whitehaven away in the NRC group stages and then it is postponed twice (what were the odds on that, no other game got called off yet ours did, twice) and even though we tonked them in the end it was on a Wednesday evening, not ideal really.

We get Toulouse away early season and its on a very wet and windy night, no excuses we played badly but the weather was not what you normally get in the south of France, it never stopped all day and night! So we go and lose, can't blame the weather for losing, the point being it is not when you would chose to play in Toulouse.

We then get drawn at Toulouse away in the NRC, yer it might be an easier draw on paper than the other clubs left at this stage but it means not many fans can go and yet more travelling.

Yer we are playing badly we have not lost because of bad luck but the thing is it seems luck has deserted us right now, look at Leigh who I admit are playing well but have had a good run of home matches, caught Fev out of sorts and all seems to be going for them.

So hopefully it will be our turn sometime soon or maybe later this season, things tend to even themselves out.

I take your part about fax, but Leigh have hardly had an ideal start. We have lost Bibey and Nash (2 of our 1st choice props) with long injuries and also Robbie Paul out long term too. Our best reserve prop in Meekin then gets injured so we can't call him up and have to plug the gap as best we can from week to week. And a start to the season of

Widnes(H)
Widnes (H)

Is hardly what you want to be facing when you are missing a lot of 'size' up front. Leigh have done well 'despite' not 'because'. Thats just my opinion anyway. Wouldn't say we have had any 'luck' though. We are playing hard fixtures week after week at the moment.

Yer well done. on paper those fixtures looked hard but are Barrow and Widnes a real threat this year? Not sure.
Plus no sour grapes you got them at home not away (Barrow apart and come on even Batley won up there).
I think its yours and Fevs year this year but yu never know Batley will want to keep their trophy.

Batley willl be "Up there" at the end of the season, They havn't started too badly,

If we can turn things around then Barrow may well become this seasons main under achievers, all sorts going on up there,

Some of it may be luck but there are also so bad decisions on and off the pitch which have n't helped.

Is this the same Batley that has beaten Fax twice this year.. So far.

will play it safe and say whitehaven definately not a threat this year and fax will finnish above them.
