Sponsored walk to Dewsbury : Fri Apr 22, 2011 7:18 am  

This year is flying by and we are at Easter already (and its very late this year) so with time not on our side it really is time to push the sponsored walk to Dewsbury which for those of you living in a cave or just cutting yourself off from everything that is Halifax RLFC for the last few months is to raise money for the Fax fundbuilder fund which is a great idea set up by the Halifax RLFC Independent supporters trust to raise £25,000 to fund the clubs under 23s a very important cause I am sure you will agree. Linda, Colin and co have done a fantastic job so far towards raising the £25,000 but much work is still needed to be done and if you have not done anything to help with the fax fundbilder yet then why not do this walk? I will be in the south stand bar before and after the Dewsbury game with sponsor forms and to talk about the walk and answer any questions you may have. Together we can make Halifax RLFC stronger so please take a sponsor form off me and raise as much money as possible just think if 100 people raised £100? I will be doing a practise walk on Tuesday to see how long the walk will take to see what time we need to set off. Look forward to seeing and talking to you on Monday. Happy Easter to you all.

Thank you Neil for all the work you have put into this and please even if you feel you cannot do the walk try to sponsor someone who is. As Neil says if 100 people raised £100 that would be £10,000 just on the one event. After the last few matches it`s quite dificult to motivate people re` fundraising but since when have Fax supporters ever had it easy and the mark of true supporters is when like Neil you still decide to go that extra mile (or in Neils case 15 or so ) to raise money for your club.
This walk is for the Faxbuilder fund to raise money for the Under 23s , we set ourselves a target of £25,000 just before Xmas and we are not so short of halfway there . That is thanks to all our fans who have pledged this huge amount of money in a variety of differant ways. Including organising raffles , quizes , donations of money , dinners ,bus travel the response has been tremendous .The walk would be a massive chunk of the money if we could achieve anywhere near what we hope. Thanks again Neil.
