It does appear that there have been a few problems at Salford behind the scenes with "mad Malc" also being suspended recently as well. From the outside, Salford have always appeared to me to be a very well run club, I hope McCrae is fit & healthy enough to continue in his profession, I feel he's one of the Aussies/NZ's who's added something to the British game and he's proved he's no fly-by-night with his longevity. I don't mind his work as a journalist/pundit on the tv either, seems to speak sense unlike some of the jumped up clowns they have on.
He recently turned up to watch Siddal under 16's play a sunday morning fixture ( his team of scouts are out & about every week ) to run the rule over a couple of lads playing for Siddal who Salford have high hopes for in the future who've been on their books for a couple of seasons, there aren't too many head coaches who give up their sunday mornings once they have kids in their professional systems, so fair play to him.

Would love to have him here as our coach he is head and shoulders above what we have in the coaching department atm.

He's unemployed at the moment, not fit for work was the last I heard.........

And all those years coaching at the top division he ought to be, but don't under-estimate our club or it's staff.

Don't say we're thinking of haveing a bit of a flutter on him? Still to a lot of our fans say we're getting a name for the sick lame and lazy.

Can you not remember how his Salford team needed the help of his sky cronies to win the league ? A team that on paper should have walked it. No thanks, would rather stick until someone with genuine credentials becomes available

Eh?
How about the opposition with more Aussies than a Walkabout inn? Salford were the best side that year without question.
A proven track record for spotting young talent and experienced players, he has done a great job on limited resources and I dont think many Saints fans will argue with how he was there for the start of their revolution. Mcrae is a good honest, enthusuastic bloke, he doesn't need RL, he loves it.
Plus he's a great PR man, gives passionate interviews and he should be thanked for his service to British RL.

I was referring to the fact that his Sky cronies (backed by the rfl) told us to play on a Thursday night after a tough Whitehaven away trip on the Sunday when Salford had a full weeks rest. If we'd have won that game we'd have gone either top or level on points with them with a few games left.
Considering the squad they had (which was the best in the league) no-one should have been so close to them so late in the season.

You can quote his tenure at Saints which was 1996-98 but his most recent, therefore, most relevant roles at Salford and Souths have not produced much to write home about and there are his health issues.

I'd rather we stuck with what we've got for the time being whilst we sounded out potential replacements and made sure we got the right coach in
