Neil's News v Barrow/ Away Travel Featherstone : Mon May 02, 2011 9:17 am
Well the continued improvement from Deswbury came to a sudden alt. As Danny Jones who was the guest player in the Southdale lounge said we need to address the problem of not competing for the full 80 as once again the second half was our undoing although we got the lead back with 10 minutes to go but could not hold on and as with Dewsbury the week before let in 3 tries. Well done to Danny in accepting my invitation to be interviewed after the game. Not easy with the results not going our way, but was good to hear the reception he got. With both York and Dewsbury picking up points in their match, giving away the try on the last play meant we did not even get a bonus point to keep us out of the bottom 2.
Miles Greenwood won the Southdale Lounge Man of the Match award getting 3 points, 2nd was Neil Cherryholme with 2 and 3rd Sam Barlow with 1. This meant there was no change in the top 3 with Maki Aizue still leading on 7 points .
Results of Club 1873 saw the first prize of a £20 voucher going to number 107 Joe Leach and 2nd with a £15 voucher number 5 Michael Callaghan.
The Hitman award went to Neil Cherryholme and was presented with his award by one of Halifax's greats Garfield Owen.
The Golden Gamble wining number was 3821 with a prize of £207.
