Reported in today's League Express, imminent announcement of a 6 point deduction for the Raiders. A salary cap breach from 2010 has reportedly been discussed with Des and his puppets last week and the results made known this week.
Should make the top 6 a lot clearer, allowing us to breath a bit easier and focus on playing well and ensuring the best possible finishing position for the play offs.

Given all the speculation Barrow have released a short statement

On Thursday, 14th July, 2011 Barrow Raiders Chairman Des Johnston and Vice-Chairman Jon Livesey attended a meeting at the R.F.L. to discuss concerns regarding possible administrative breaches of the Salary Cap regulations in the 2010 season.
The R.F.L. listened to the representations made on behalf of the club and will deliver their judgement within the next few days.

Leigh's 3pt deduction was called a "Technical Breach" this is being refered to as an "Administrative breach" is that where the extra 3pts comes from?

If it is true, got to wonder who's leaked it, I wouldnt be happy if it was about us and being leaked!

The extra 3 points come from "breaches" rather than "breach" mate

i hate seeing others clubs suffering but Barrow are going to really struggle if this happens.

all the trouble behind the scenes up there over the last couple of years will really hamper them attracting big name players up there.

surely the only reason why the likes of Rooney, James, Gleeson, Thackray went up there was for Des' cashola!

And he seems to be withdrawing that slowly.

theres very little money to be made out of this sport, practically none if your outside SL...and thats never gonna happen for barrow.

Isn't Rooney still travelling up there twice a week for training from Wakefield? Think he managed to avoid a driving ban as he stated to the courts that he needed to drive to get to his work.

Matt James left Quins as he was "Homesick" I seem to remember, we were in talks then he took a better offer up in Barrow,

Most players who play up there, either have to move, or have a big enough incentive to do the travel, and whats the incentive? Same one that got Nigel Wright out of bed for a 600 Mile round trip!

The was talk at the grand final that 3 - 4 players had walked out over the shambles up there. Dont' know who has walked.
