I'm dis-appointed with last night's final home league attendance, OK, so it was live on tv but 2,090 is pathetic in my opinion.
The lads have a bit of form going into defending their title in the play offs, I wish more Calderdale folks would put their hands in their pockets and support the lads.
Overall, I reckon our attendances have been poor all season inc the Bradford cup game after the last couple of seasons we've witnessed.
I wonder what average the club had budgeted for ?

Are the club doing anything to attract new supporters? The cost is to much for casual fans who want to sit down and watch the rugby. Especially too expensive for a semi pro league with no promotion.

Cant say i was suprised with the low attendance, miserable night, on sky on a thursday night, the club learning that they didnt get a super league licence and are in this league for another 3 years, widnes are going up whatever and the league positions for both teams would have little impact whatever the result. Hardly gets people motivated to go down does it?

You cant blame the people of Halifax who realise that the RFL have turned the sport into a joke.

TBH I had a feeling this would happen, if we cant get better crowds after the last 2 seasons we have had then we never will. Its a season of friendlies and yes i know the players and club dont see it as that but some stayaway fans will and its pretty expensive to pay for just that.

The finals are great yes and an amazing experience but stayaway fans only attend them now and not any league fixtures, as bad as it sounds people dont want to pay to watch dewsbury, york, toulouse, hunslet etc, they wanna watch Tomkins, Mcguire, Briers etc.

But who is to say being in SL will bring the people of Calderdale out? The visit of once arch rivals Bradford was met with a whimper from the folk of Calderdale. It's depressing. As whacky as it sounds, somehow the club have to run a "Cougar-mania" style campaign - to offer something other than the champagne stuff they've provided on the pitch over the last three years. Come on Calderdale! Get off your backsides and put some pride back into Sporting Halifax.

Well id say the crowd v the bulls was partly due to us being crap at that point and everyone expecting a 60+ hammering.

As for our regular season, take away the romance of the sport which is what the RFL has done and this is what you get.

I remember when Fax moved to the Shay. I remember the try that Cardiss scored against Leeds - a full length of the pitch effort. Fantastic. That was when Fax were competitive. Well over 5,000 attended that day. Why? Because Fax were in a fair competition against other teams. People will support a fair sport. People will not support RFL whilst there is nothing fair about it.

Halifax.

The Skircoat community stand full of fammilies on freebies , a decent away support on free coach transport and nominate your street offer to fans
