Can't see it ever happening in football,

Something like 43 clubs have played in the Premier League since its inception, And quite a few of them are still in with a shout of a return,

Other than a core of the 8-10 "Top Clubs" how would it be decided who takes the remaining places,

Brilliant idea!

I think they should sign up Woods and Lewis straight away to get it off the ground. They've already got the experience through the RFL and would be just as successful with their second venture.

The FA could give them huge annual wages for very little effort and then maybe in 4 or 5 years, football might also be on it's knees with the lower leagues playing for peanuts and being driven into administration, doomed to the history books and memories of the real supporters.

FA, get them signed up now and get them out of our sport, we can then start the rebuilding of our beloved sport.

Just shows what franchises really mean in sport = MONEY.
They surely would never allow this to happen in football, they aint that stupid. You watch if they tried to all hell would break loose.

I maybe wrong but I am sure that I heard on the radio that the FA want the government to bring out legislation to stop this from happening - this in itself goes to show what a ridiculous idea it is in any SPORT. It would be interesting to see if any such legislation is introduced.

Yer but too many clubs are now owned by foreigners which is why this has come up, they are the ones wanting no relegation so there needs to be some way of stopping them doing what they want with OUR game (football is the national sport) even though RL can be far better at times we all know.

For the last couple of mornings, Dave Whelan has been talking about this subject.
He has said that if no promotion or relegation was introduced then he would withdraw Wigan from the Premiership.
I appreciate that he now has nothing to do with Wigan Warriers who are in a League with no Promotion or relegation,

BUT, He was happy with the position when he was involved with Wigan Warriers, Is his stance now that, he knows Wigan Athletic could get relegated before the proposals come in?

Just a thought.
