Fax for Super League : Mon Mar 26, 2012 9:10 am  

Having visited Salford and saints shiny new stadiums I was looking forward to going to a traditional ground like the jungle. Well, what a dump SL as I have needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Halifax now has a venue fit for a world cup game (I know its only Tonga but still.)and a fan base that with the right team could hit 10k. Halifax deserve SL and SL need Halifax.

Mr Creosote doesn't think so and while he's about we don't hold much hope.
Quite happy for Karl to build bridges and solid foundations and keep doing well in the Championship for now.

I'm getting a bit sick of people slagging off other other teams all of the time. We just need to get our heads down and kick on with what we're doing. If we're doing well as justthebasicfax has said then we can't (make that shouldn't!) be ignored.

Unless Cas suddenly find a stadium which they have been promising for the last 4 years or so then your seat at the top table should without question be assured.
Featherstone would have a good shout as would Leigh although money troubles and poor admin would suggest their chance has been and gone. As a whole package their is only one sensible option get fax in.

I'm not slagging Cas off just the fact is their ground is not up to standard and for too long they have been promising new facilities with nothing in sight whilst the likes of Fax are quitely going about their business on and off the pitch and this as you rightly say should not be ignored.

Appreciate the support and words of confidence but unless I'm mistaken we don't even have the right to apply yet.

We need to focus on the pitch for now as only Leigh, Fev and the eagles tick that box.

Still, what importance ticking boxes means I don't really know after our recent experiences. The rules will have no doubt have changed in two and a half years time anyway.

I like your sentiments and your support is welcome, most will agree re facilities too, but we have done this to death on here and its all futile. Karls doing a grand job bringing in good young players, there was a respectful minutes silence for Mick Shaw yesterday too, our best hope for progressing as a club is the road were currently on, building a stronger relationship with the town, supporters, amatuer clubs, local businesses, and thats what we need to keep focusing on. The Championships got some good sides in it, and the Rugby is a good mix of old and new styles. Some of the stadiums are better than SL too, RFL need to pull their finger out re the league fixtures though, or lack of.

We didnt even get 10K when we did well in SL. Give up on the dream until the rules are changed and just sit back and be happy we can compete for trophies as one of the best teams in this highly competitive division.

Fair point re 10k, i dont neccessarily understand why its a magic number though, a solid 6,7 or 8 is just as good, opposed to 4k to 5k and 11k once in a blue moon when the Rhinos come to town, as some clubs get. I dont think support is our issue though, we're going to have to be the best community club around, long term thats worth more than somebody throwing a bucket of cash at us and paying off huge tax bills.

we need to win the GF at least once, preferably twice,

if we continue to push with the juniors and slowly build more supprt with the community (college etc),

with abit of luck we might get considered by the powers, however i doubt it.

Crowds will not improve dramatically unless we go up.

we need to focus on juniors and our 1st team until we 'tick the box' and then move onto support.

basically we need to do exactly what widnes did....
