hull kr now in trouble joining salford hard on the heals of the bradford fiasco,, HULL KR's owners are considering their future support of the club in the wake of a difficult Super League campaign, the Mail can reveal. It's now becoming a repetative theme at a lot of clubs, i know it's as old as the game but what can be done about it?

I'm just appreciative of our BOD who have given us some good times over the last few years, Championship or not and had the sense to put some reality into the wage structure with the club at least turning over a profit.

So unless he has a lot of influence and is able to make people part with their cash, could be a long road ahead

So we get slated for not having the very thing that is crippling some clubs - a sugar daddy!

Seems you can't survive with or without one! Serious reality check for the RFL and SL.

Although some say it's sour grapes - Fax are so much better out of it and I hope our board give it serious thought should they ever need to - for their benefit and the club's!

The thing is that effectively Halifax have many supporters, sponsors and fans that might be considered to be wealthy but dont throw their money around in order to achieve short term success, this might well be due to previous failing and lessons learned as we now have a structure in place with the current board that ensures stability within the financial constraints of the salary cap.
In my experiences with the club there is clearly a network of small sponsors, volunteers and staff along with lets say 2 thousand core supporters at present that are prepared to go that extra mile for the club and the board.

The problem with SL is that they all crave instant success and they believe that it can be achieved by paying inflated wages to gravy train overrated Australians. Take Featherstone for example in the Challenge cup this year, a team assembled for less than 300k wiped the floor with Cas assembled for probably a million quid. Ok, they wouldnt be able to sustain that level of performance every week and Widnes are a prime example having been promoted but maybe the British game needs to look at restricting the Aussie gravy train and start bringing through the British youth for a fraction of the cost thus ensuring solvency. This is an old topic covered a thousand times but until the RFL stops the influx of Antipodeans our game will continue to struggle in my view.

Hey its the future as according to the RFL you are not fit enough for a SL Licence without a Sugar Daddy, our model of not relying on one solely is not the the right one they tell us.

Salford borrowed 1m from council, paying back at 50k every 3 months over forever
Hull KR delayed season tickets until october until that fans will know what the are paying for.
Cas totally skint

Thats just the state for 5 0f our so called top clubs.

I used to, but not in it's present form. I think we should just sit back and watch the House of Cards collapse at which point our clubs will still be viable businesses and half of SL will be bankrupt.

Fat Nige should learn to play the fiddle. It'll give him something to do while SL burns!

Sureley if we join SL then our income will increase, if we set our wages within that the we may not be challenging for the top positions but should be a well balanced club who are not on the verge of going bust.
Our BOD have managed on the current income, and many thanks to them,so if in SL they should work to this plan and not bother with the over the hill Aussies. If we are seen to be supporting young British players then maybe the players will see this and think we are the club to join.
Who knows, it might just work.
