I'm not really interested what McDermott has got to say about it all, the SL clubs are changing & bending the rules to suit themselves, they greedy up ALL of the SKY monies that come into the game and have had full competitions for academy structures including scholarships for years. Clubs not in SL aren't afforded the same luxuries & benefits. It all turns me off RL reading crap like that to be honest. These clubs are prepared to throw lads at 20 years old on the scrap heap, unless of course they can farm them out to their partner Championship clubs until they desperately need them back to replace their injured first graders.
Sure Barrie Mac is allowed his opinion, but just like several other SKY pundits on RL, he's employed by one of the SL clubs. How right or wrong can that be ?

What's new about that ? Only been happening for about 140 years ....

I like Barrie and have a lot of time for him. Met him personally and is a decent bloke. However I do think he is talking a bit of rubbish here and also I would be very surprised if more than 5 ever make the Leeds first team from this years U19. Leeds have a number of youngsters like Stevie Ward, Jimmy Keinhorst (Who had trials at Fax but Fax got rid of the academy!), Brad Singleton, Liam Hood etc and Leeds usually bring in a couple of players like Joel Moon and Achurch this year. The same process of a couple will make it the rest will be released will carry on. Too much spin again by people who are just toeing the line.
