OT Things to do in Halifax : Fri Dec 14, 2012 7:47 am  

Me and a couple of mates are coming up to Halifax, originally to watch Maidstone United in the FA Trophy. Since it is almost certain this match will be called off, we have a whole day and night to spend in Halifax. What else can one do in Halifax and the surrounding areas? I'm guessing most sport will also fall victim to the weather.

Both serious and sarcastic suggestions will be welcomed

Go to our nice brand new cinema, and have something to eat in one of the new restaurants.

If I was you i'd get a train to Leeds or Manchester, Halifax is great if you like drinking and fighting, otherwise there's not a whole lot to do

You obviously go to the wrong pubs, Brew. I've been going out in the town centre on Saturday nights for more years than I care to remember and have seen hardly any trouble.

Of course, Leeds is trouble free. Just ask Wayne Reittie.

I've never seen a scrap in a pub in Halifax, apart from when I walked past the courtyard and it looked like half of west yorkshire police had turned up for a bit of a ding dong. That and too "women" (use that term loosely, couldnt be too sure) fighting outside the railway. Only other time I've seen any trouble has been at chucking out time,

Depends what they want to do, Electric Bowl usually gets booked up quite quickly on saturdays. Cinema isn't everyones cup of tea, and the shops aren't much cop either. So other than drinking (which may suit some people for a full days activity) there isn't a whole lot to be doing

You could come and grit our roads as the council don't seem to want to.

If the forecast is correct sould be some amateur games on. We are playing Cowling Harlequins, they play in your clubs old pink number

Quite keen on drinking. Been to Manchester and Leeds many times. Any amateur Rugby would be grand...
