They're quite confident about this over on their board.

They're forgetting there is only one other club outside super league with a grade C licence. And they don't qualify on the pitch to apply.


Second thoughts, they can have it. They'll cease to exist within a year!

freddie non of that matters, its the RFL we are talking about.

Re the thread about this on the Leigh board only 1 person is optimistic about something that certainly won't happen this coming season.

I can't be bothered about SL.

Our league is better and more competative from top to bottom.

As for not being able to qualify though ??? Featherstone, Halifax, Leigh and Sheffield are all eligible for next year arn't they ?

Neither have got millions to spend, 3 of the 4 clubs have similar fanbases (although I think Leighs will increase dramatically next season) and its a no-brainer who has the best facilities.

I feel really sorry for Salford.

What it does prove is that Franchising will never work on our current format. 2 tiers of 10 clubs is the way to go for me. It will improve all 20 clubs concerned, and the prospect of P&R will long exist as the main goal for both players and fans.

I would laugh rather loudly if there were no takers for Salford's place. That league isn't fit for purpose - you would need a serious wedge of cash to make it work and more fans than any of the current Championship sides have at the moment.

The problem with a 2 tier 20 team Super League(s) is what happens to the other clubs

6 more clubs will be needed, Lets say for example they put in Halifax, Fev, Leigh and Sheffield, realistically who are the other 2 clubs going to be?

Then what happens to those left behind? 1 league of 15/16? with no real prize, and a gulf between whoevers left at the top (lets say Batley) and then Gateshead, Crusaders ect at the bottom, that won't last more than a couple of years
