I t was a good night and I think our Clubs Directors should be applauded for arranging and ensuring this went ahead . They would have no doubt been wondering if they would recoup thier expenses but there was a sizeable crowd and I saw people from many differant clubs there too Leeds , Warrington to name a few .
It certainly put the Fax on the map and wouldn`t have done the Club any harm in the PR stakes.

It was a very good evening, every one came out as winners. Many thanks to the
Board, the staff, the players from both clubs and to those of us that turned up to watch. 500 or so hardy nutcases.
Special thanks to the Storm players who stayed out well after the session and signed autographs and some gave their kit away.
All the halifax players were also very approachable which went down well with the kids.


Off thread, just thinking about some of the Storm players who gave away their kit,
Last week when Oldham played Everton the Oldham players were told not to swap shirts as the club couldn't afford replacements. Also the press were given a pass which entitled them to one free cup of coffee and a single chocolate bar/ biscuit. At the bottom of that pass it said "but not a Mars duo "

A great night that the club can be rightly proud off.

Well done the board even if it cost the club money. Its little things like this that may bring a player or sponsor to join. The players have spoken the massive lift they received from it. The fans who went obviously loved it. Maybe it will result in further interaction between Melbourne and Fax. The PR and stuff has further helped to put the club and town on the Map especially in Australia.

Lots of Pictures here http://halifaxrlfc.smugmug.com/Fax-Phot ... &k=Rhf9QGB As a Club want to thank all those who turned up, our coaching staff and players and most especially the Storm for the patience and for just about signing everything everybody had. They were supposed to leave around 7.30 but stayed until at least 8.15 making sure that everyone got a chance to see them. Billy Slater and Gareth Widdup especially made two young fans night by giving them their shirts and socks! We are hoping that we can establish the link even more so. . The Storm have promised our youth coaches help and information about training techniques and diet, so hopefully we shall be retaining our Gareth Widdups of the future here at Halifax RLFC rather than sending them off to OZ. It was a lot of work organising the event, made so much easier by the Storms desire to come to Halifax and the regard that they held for the Club after the last visit. . they were all very surprised to see how the Club had moved on and were very surprised and grateful at the number of fans that turned out and for the welcome they got too Thanks to you all

Great news and maybe worth looking at sending a young U18s player to play with Melbourne for a year like Widnes did when they sent one of theirs to Brisbane. Good to see Halifax RLFC held in high esteem by Melbourne and that is something our board should be very proud of even if the RFL dont appreciate us

Channel 7 have just shown some snippets of the session on Sunrise. Looks like the weather held up pretty well, although there seemed to be no shortage of woolly hats !

Well done the club and thanks to the Storm and long may the association reign (even if im an Eels fan)
