There was a section in this weeks RL press about Ferres resigning from Cas and Waky's sponsers having some difficulties.

The same ones are involved with Dewsbury.

On Cas basically Ian Millward said that the club owed a great deal to their main man without who's support past and present they would be up the spout.
He said the playing staff would be mainly unaffected by Mr Ferres going.

Waky it was said were payed their sponsership in installments which would leave them short if the next part was not received but having known that this deal would be ending this year anyway had been talking to new sponsers as a matter of course and would be looking at accelerating a new sponsership arrangement.

Wakey are apparently now going to go without a 6 figure sum as a result of Eric France Scrap Metals been liquidated.

Ryan Sparks from the Dewsbury Reporter has tweeted that Dewsbury Rams say the terracing development is unaffected by the collapse, and they are moving to secure the medium term future of the club. Presume that means finding a new sponsor. They do however face a significant shortfall.

Its unfortunate for any club who are let down by a sponsor going bust, but is an unfortunate reflection on the current climate. It'd be nice to be paid fully up front, but I'd be surprised if many of these agreements are.

As for Cas, general consensus at work is something is wrong "darn t'lane". Quite a lot of rumours about cas at the moment about whats happening, but Im sure some people just make it up on the spot!

What a shock. I would never have thought SL to be unsustainable for any of its licence holders. Wood and Rimmer haven't said anything. This is like a bolt out of the blue. KPMG should be contacted immediately. They'll know what to do.

Oh dear.
Those SL walls are coming crumbling down I'm afraid.
Been here with Fax and certainly not gloating over Cas & Wakey-exact opposite in fact. Heartland clubs collapsing, expansion clubs with less attendees than top Championship clubs, rich clubs dont give a monkeys! The sad demise of a truly great family game is on the horizon unless those who can do something about it stand up and be counted for the good of the game and not the privileged few! Reality check time!!!!!

Certainly not gloating either but an attendance of under 2k ar Salford last sunday is shocking
