I hope that the Council will subsequently put the Shay catering contract out to local tender or, better still, let Fax and FCHT, organise it with some fiscal incentive for the clubs.
EMC have been poor and a complete rip-off from the start.

I doubt either club wants the responsibility of organising matchday catering. However, lets hope the Council decide to take it on board now, with the input of the clubs. Losing EMC out of the equation should in effect cut out the middle man. There is the potential for an increase in quality but at a better price. Just depends on whether the Council have the desire or not.

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Prior to us moving to the LSV we had a company called Cheshire Catering running the bars and food outlets as well as the corporate at Hilton Park
The owner ran a local fine food pub and therefore had the staff , contacts , purchasing power and skills needed to provide all we needed at reasonable cost and still allow everybody to see some profit , I'd suggest both clubs and the council sit down and have a look around for interested parties
If the council run it , it will be either too expensive and nobody will buy it , badly run and nobody will buy it , if the clubs run it , there will be conflict , arguments and distrust from all parties
So basically find a good Chef/Pub owner looking to expand his/her business and tell them what you want , and what you expect people to be willing to pay for it , and then work with them to hopefully see everybody make something out of the deal

They rugby club already use a local catering company from The Venue, dont know how that works with the previous catering company. Dont know if its the same for the football.
When both clubs have their pre match dinners, does each club actually make money out of these? Will the problem have an impact on the revenues of the club until a replacement is found? Going on past experience will Town agree to cooperate with Fax on finding a replacement? Could the South Stand bar go back to a volunteer basis like the Taveners was? (perhaps one problem with that would be "would" all profits go to the council?) Lots to think about, either way I bet neither Fax or Town wanted this at the moment.
But guessing what will happen is that the bars will closed for Sunday. Need to get the can stall open under the South Stand, if the Trust can open that on Sunday it might generate some cash for the club.
