Broncos to play Catalan at Esher RUFC, capacity 2,300, of which 1,200 are seats.

At least there'll be seats for everyone! Minimum standards? I s*** em!

This is SL admission by the back door that the London initiative just isn't working.What happened to the minimum 4000 spectators home gate criteria to get in SL? They have no crowds and Catalan won't bring many so cut your losses time!

Now't to do with the thread , but, I was fortunate a long long time ago, in my dark side (rugby union days) to have played at Esher, at the time, they boasted 4 senior sides, a few junior sides and that was it.
Now they have 7 senior sides, 11 juniors and 15 mini teams.not to count seniors, I would assume that the RUFC has done a lot for clubs like this, perhaps they saw this as a way forward, invest in youth, what does the R FL do?
Cancel under 23's , tell clubs to use other clubs fringe players.
Until something happens at the top, ie Red Hall, we "Rugby League" will never move forward.
Only my opinion, and as usual, I am probably wrong.

Precedent is set now, when the final tufts of grass on the pitch at The Shay finally disappear and we're left with nothing more than a huge sandpit, we can go and play at Huddersfield YMCA

It's just further evidence that the RU dominance over RL is stronger now than it's ever been for a "junior" club to be able to probably attract more playing & social members than it's nearest SL team in the alternative code can attract supporters & the fact that there's no other suitable venue to host a top flight SL fixture.
London always has been & always will a matter of flogging a dead horse, Wales is the same. There's only Catalans that have offered anything resembling a growing business & if we're all honest about it they've had plenty of RFL assistance to be able to get this far.

Its first time the words London Broncos(or whatever they are) and near capacity crown may ever be heard. Saying that theres probably still 1300 too many spaces for that to happen.

I'm surprised i'ts not one of the televised games. SKY must be kicking themselves over the switch to a near capacity ground.
