Perhaps it's a knee jerk reaction, but perhaps he see's no point in injecting money into the club/game. Either way it seem to be another nail in the coffin?

can the HKR fans make a claim of pride being injured due to that result.

Neil Hudgell has been outspoken before over the whole running of the game & franchising system & good on him I say. How embarrassing to get whooped by that score, at home. It sums up SL and all it stands for.

Maybe the fans are fed up of watching the same 13 teams over and over.

Compounded by the fact that nearly half of those teams have bugger all to play for 10 games in!

He missed the oportunity however to inform them of a some sort of short / medium or long term strategy of how the Club was going to try to address the Clubs lack of fans etc`and how the fans could maybe assist them with this. I get a bit fed up of Clubs " preaching to the converted " all the time people have a great deal of choice these days with how they spend their leisure time and they spend their money where they choose .It`s up to the Clubs to get out and about to try to get new speccies to come along and try what`s on offer just telling everybody something they can all see for themselves is not very inspiring. Long gone are the days when the "fabric " of most Clubs inc` ours was woven into the actual Town it served ,so someone has to go out and do a bit of weaving the magic themselves. It`s good to see the players and Halicat visiting schools it is what`s needed to try and encourage new supporters down to the Shay .

Yep - everyone said it. Those cheap season tickets would come back and bite him on the bum. He cheapened his product and now he's paying the full price which incidentally, the fans aren't because there's a recession!!

There are other factors of course. It is extremely cold at the moment and it's affecting every club but in the main the tough economic conditions are biting.

Our own crowds are down alarmingly too and with winning pay to shell out it will affect our own club at some point soon.

Sadly, I don't think there is an easy solution Griff. Not without some people/clubs taking a long hard look at the game as a whole.

Would you agree it's a problem griff, and what would you do, you're good at asking questions, how are your answers?

Griff hardly ever agrees with anyone, he just waites for others to post and then says the opposite.

Of course he won't agree with me on this though.

I think from all that has been talked about in the RL fraternity the 4 leagues of 10 teams may be the way to go with a better more even distribution of the funds so moving from division to division with P & R would be more realistically achieved.

It would give the game a shake up with some different opposition with hopefully the bulk of the games being competative with something to play for.

As you say though Freddie there is no one solution but something has to be done, equally worrying is the powers that be whether it is the RFL, certain current SL clubs and Sky all have their own agenda which is not based on what is good for the game as a whole.
