Eagles next year : Sun Sep 08, 2013 12:14 pm
Things are looking bleak for the Eagles next year:
https://audioboo.fm/boos/1586959-head-c ... ittershare I really hope they manage to sort things out. I know we constantly have digs at their attendances but, joking aside, it would be a catastrophe if they disappeared. They would be the first club to fail, not because of finances, but because they have nowhere to play. I have never been one of Mark Aston's biggest fans but he has always been Mister Sheffield and his passion and commitment is clear for all to see. The proposed new ground was announced amid fanfares and a glare of publicity but since then nothing. I must admit I was very apprehensive at the time as I could not see, in the current climate, who would want to invest vast sums of money to build a new stadium as it is hardly a lucrative investment even if Sheffield were pulling massive crowds. Anyway, I can only wish them well. |
