Not sure but he has to start somewhere,and he has a lot of playing experience both in Super League and Rah Rah Rugger.

cant say I am impressed. Would rather have somebody who was a hooker/Halfback and has some idea on tactics and options. I just cant see the benefit of having 2 people who played winger on the coaching team and nobody who has played Pro as an organizer or ball player. Again it seems to be reward the local player but is it the best for the team? Personally I dont think so

We best rule out Wayne Bennett or Michael Maguire then, also no chance of a return for Chris Anderson if we don't want a winger coaching Give Steve Linnane or Ross Strudwick a call.

Perhaps wingers on the coaching staff may emphasise the need for the half backs to actually use them instead of five drives and a kick.

I do see your point but in fairness as I said earlier on in this topic Rikki has a lot of quality experience.
We will see, it's never dull at HRLFC that's why it's so great.

You miss the point Leon. Our main Coaching team has 2 Wingers/ex wingers and a Forward. In my opinion I feel it would be good to have somebody who has played in the halves or at Hooker.

Wayne Bennett had for example Craig Bellamy on his coaching staff whg had played Halfback and lock for Canberra as well as. Chris Anderson wasnt an out and out winger and played many games for Fax at 6. Michael Maguire has Kurt Wrigley as an assistant who has played halfback and Wayne Collins who played hooker as his assistants. A coaching team is more than just about one person, but a team effort with people who have experience in a number of positions to offer advice. Having one of the assistants who has played at a similar or higher level at 6,7 or 9 would be better in my opinion.

Theres not many around though, too many coaches have gone to Union. Fev have had to appoint an assistant from the pennine league!
